Katherine Receveur, the 2012 KYtrackXC.com Outdoor Distance Runner of the Year has committed to run at Miami University (OH.) The Assumption senior was the 2012 Class AAA State Champion in the 800m Run and a member of the state winning 4x800m Relay team that same year. That 4x800m squad set the Kentucky State Record and holds the fastest overall time in Kentucky history.
Her junior year followed with a fourth place finish in the Class AAA Kentucky State XC Meet and a state team title. She then helped lead Assumption to the win at Nike Cross Southeast with a 6th place finish overall. After XC she went onto run 4:57.24 for the One Mile Run at New Balance Indoor Nationals.
She fought back from injury midway through her senior XC season this past fall to help lead Assumption once again to another Kentucky state championship and Nike Cross Southeast Regional win in November.
Her PR of 4:57 in the One Mile ranks #2 in Kentucky history indoors.
On why she chose Miami (OH):
"When I was trying to find the right place for me, I wanted a team that I could fit in with, a coach I liked, and a school I would enjoy outside of running. I wasn't necessarily looking for the fastest, most competitive team, but somewhere that I would enjoy for the next four years and be successful in running."
