4x800 Meter Relay


Ohio D3 #1 is Columbus Grove. They won Region 9 with a 7:57.51. They are the only team that has run under 8:00. They are the team to beat. OH D3 #2 is Lancaster Fisher Catholic. They won Region 10 with an 8:06.53, but have run 8:04.60. Riverdale was 2nd in Region 10 with an 8:08.06. The Region 12 winner was Versailles with an 8:10.23. Columbus Grove is the team to beat.

110m Hurdles

The two heats set up well for the finals with OH #1 Chad Zallow of JFK Warren in heat 1 with a 13.50. OH D3 #2 is Connor Troyer of Garaway in Heat 2 with a 14.13. OH D3 #3 is Joe Falasca of Berlin Center Western Reserve with a 14.55. Zallow is the defending champion and is ranked #5 US and this is his to win. Zallow may challenge the OHSAA Div. 3 record of 13.79 set in 1993 by Kevin Huntley of Fremont St. Josph C.C..

100m Dash

Five are under 11:00. OH #1 is Chad Zallow of JFK Warren with a 10.74. Can he run back to back? #2 is his teammate Jacob Coates who has run 10.80. Others under 11.00 are Kameron Antwine of Fairfield Christian with a 10.92 and Mason Warnimont of Cory-Rawson, 10.99. OH D3 #3 is Levi Wyse of Archbold who qualified with an 11.14, but has run 10.90. Wyse was 3rd last year in 11.03.

4x200 Meter Relay

1.72 seconds separate the teams in Heat 1. Heat 1 has OH D3 #2, Bluffton with a 1:30.76 and OH #4 & 5. Loudonville is #4 and has run 1:31.37. #5 is Hopewell-Loudon with a 1:31.42. Trinity has the fastest qualifying time in Heat 2 with a 1:31.09. However, Cory-Rawson qualified with a 1:31.16 but has run OH D3 #1 1:30.63. Too close to call.

1600m Run



Only two runners are under 4:20. D3 #1 Sr. Mason Moore of Summit Country Day who has run 4:16.36 and Sr. Bayley Tow of Linconview who has run 4:19.42. The next fastest is D3 #3 Jr. Cray Sistrunk of Belpre who has run 4:25.07. Moore is the defending Champion winning last year with a 4:16.27 and he should defend his title.

4x100 Meter Relay

Just 1.13 seconds separate the teams. Tinora comes in with a 43.77, Ridgewood a 43.82, Loudonville a 43.88 and Blufton a 43.97. Gahana Columbus Academy qualified with a 44.95, but has run 43.74. Like the 4x200 this is too close to call.

400 Meter Dash

4 boys come in with times under 50. D3 OH #1 is Sr. Nick Knudsen of Rocky River Lutheran West. Knudsen qualified with a 49.68 but has run 49.17. D3 #2 is Sr. Kyle Storm of Burton Berkshire. Storm has a 49.23. D3 #3 is Fr. Jerome Buckner of Gahanna Columbus Academy who has a 49.69. Sr. Zack Maust of Sugar Grove Berne Union is D3 OH#4 with a 49.69. Archbold Sr. Levi Wyse qualified with 50.56, but has run 49.78. Wyse and Maust are the only returners from last year. Wyse was 7th in 50.30 and Maust was 8th in 50.44. Again, too close to call.

300 Meter Hurdles

JFK Warren Sr. Chad Zallow was 2nd last year running a 38.23 as Cols. Academy's John Lint set a new Div. 3 record in winning with a 36.32. Zallow has the only qualifying time under 38. He comes in with a 37.03. Garaway Sr. Connor Troyer qualified with a 39.11, but has run 37.98. He was 3rd last year with a 39.06. Zallow should win his hurdle double.

800 Meter Run

Sr. Clay Martin of Col. Crawford has the leading time out of Regionals with a 1:56.87. It is D3 OH#2. The second fastest time out of Regionals is a 1:56.95 by Sr. Richie Ware of Versailles. Ware's time is the #3 ranked time in D3. #4 is Anna Sr. Luke Gaier with a 1:57.33. Sr. Derek Morrison of Maplewood has the #5 ranked time of 1:57.49. He ran 1:59.98 in Regionals.Jr. Logan Baker of Columbus Academy ran 2:00.71 in winning Region 11, but was 2nd at State last year, running a 1:55.15. So. Jake Hall of Maplewood ran 1:58.59 to qualify, but has run 1:57.72. Gilmour Academy Sr. Brandon Phillips ran 1:59.27 in Regionals and has run a 1:57.87. Not really sure how to call this one. Baker should win if he can run what he ran last year, the race is wide open for anyone and the last 200 should be interesting.

200 Meter Dash

Fastest qualifying time is 22.00 by So. Jacob Coates of JFK Warren. He has the D3 OH#1 time of 21.87. The second fastest qualifying time is 22.04 by Sr. Kameron Antwine of Fairfield Cin. Christian. Antwine has run 22.03 which is D3 OH #3. Just 1.33 seconds is the difference in the field of qualifiers. Antwine was 5th last year in 22.70. The other returner from last year is Sr. Levi Wyse of Archbold who was 4th in 22.33. Wyse qualified in 22.27. Wyse has experience, but this will be a very close final.

3200 Meter Run

Five runners return from last year including this year's D3 ranked #'s 2-12 and #14. Jr. Tristan Dahmen of Maplewood leads the field with a 9:22.48 this year. He is the State D3 XC Champion. Just behind him is Sr. Logan Smith of Mineral Ridge with a 9:27.89, Jr. Sam Williamson of Antwerp, 9:32.30, Sr. Spencer Schultz of St. Henry, 9:35.90 and Linconview Sr. Bayley Tow with a 9:36.71. Smith was the Region 9 winner, Schulze the Region 12 and Williamson the Region 10 winner. Smith was 5th last year in 9:33.41 and he and Dahmen should push each other for the win.

4x400 Meter Relay

Region 11 winner, Columbus Academy, is D3 OH #1 with the fastest time of 3:23.11. Lutheran West was the Region 9 winner in a time of 3:27.70, Columbus Grove was the region 10 winner in 3:26.66 and the Region 12 winner was Anna in a time of 3:26.78. Minster is the only other team under 3:27. They finished just behind Anna is Region 12 with a 3:26.85. If Columbus Academy runs what they are capable of, they should be atop the podium.

Discus Throw


McDonald Sr. Christian Smith should win the discus. He threw 198-09 in Regionals and has throw 203-9 this year. His 203-9 is OH #1 all divisions and US #3. OH #3 all divisions is Sr. Bucyrus Palo of Newton Falls with a throw of 187-01. Palo is the defending State Champion throwing 176-00. last year. If Smith is on this should be his to win.

High Jump

The defending champion is Sr. Brandon Adkins of Dawson-Bryant. He won last year with a jump of 6-08.00. He comes in with a Regional jump of 6-09. and a D3 leading jump of 6-10. He is tied for OH #2 all divisions. #2 last year was Sr. Ben Olewiler of Ashland Crestview with a 6-7. He returns with a qualifying jump in Regionals of 6-4., but has gone 6-8. So. Timothy Trawick of Piketon was 9th as a Freshman with a jump of 6-02 and comes in this year with a jump of 6-08. The other qualifying jump over 6-05. is by Sr. Michael Ramsey of Gahanna Christian Academy. Ramsey went 6-06. Jr. Brian Hall of Adena qualified with a jump of 6-02, but went 6-06. earlier in the year. This should be a great competition to watch.

Long Jump

Three jumper this year have gone over 22-00, none at Regionals. D3 OH #1 is Fr. Demetrius Johnson of Northmor. Johnson has jumped 22-02.50. D3 #2 is Jr. Dylan Snyder of Montpelier who has gone 22-01.25, Jr. Hayden Snow of St. Mary Central Catholic has a leap of 22-00. Sr. B.J. Lawson of Liberty Benton was 4th last year with a leap of 22-07.

Shot Put


D3 Oh #1 is Sr. Kyle Louk of Mogadore. He comes out of Regionals with the 5th best throw of 53-05.25, but has thrown 57-04. D3 #2 is Sr. Austin Combs of Liberty-Benton with a throw of 56-11.50. Tied with Combs is Sr. Caleb Carrizales of Patrick Henry. Two others are come in with throws over 55-00: Sr. Grant Varner of Grandview Hts. with a toss of 56-06 and Jr. Aaron Deaton of Twin Valley South with a 55-02. One would expect a battle here between Louk, Combs Carrizales and Varner.

Pole Vault


Three vaulters come in with marks over 15-00 and one would expect all three will contend for the title. Sr. Adam Alexander of Old Fort leads the State with a vault of 15-04 and 4th last year with a 14-04. D3 #2 is So. Logan Konst of Anna who went 15-01 at Regionals and has gone 15-02. Konst was 5th last year with a vault of 14-00. The 3rd vaulter over 15-00 is Jr. Cory Depinet of Seneca East who has gone 15-00. Sr. Clay Wilson of Bluffton was 3rd last year with a vault of 14-00 and comes in with Regional vault of 14-08. It is an experienced group who know each other and it just may come down to who is on on that day.
