Capital University HS Meet #1 - Jan. 26th

Boys Results

Ryan Barber (Westerville South) was the winner in the 200m, cruising to a time of 22.48, the current second fastest time in the state.  Barber also took third in the 55m dash, running a 6.59, just behind Anthony Chandler's (Zanesville) 6.54 and Wes Eades' (West Virginia) 6.55.

Pickerington North dominated the 3200m, taking first, second, third, and fifth place in the race.  Nathan Corder was the winner with a time of 10:10.94 (the fifth fastest time in the state this season), followed by Daniel Garleb (10:13.93) and Greg Black (10:27.03). 

Jordan Goffena (Sidney) improved on his fifth place time in the state on his way to the win in the 55m hurdles, with a time of 7.72 seconds.   

Dunbar won the 4x200m relay in a time of 1:34.04, and flip-flopped spots with Wayne in the state rankings.  Dunbar is now third, and Wayne fourth in the state rankings.

Dunbar also won the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:34.16, narrowly beating Langley (Pennsylvania) who ran a 3:34.25.

Reynoldsburg dominated the 4x800m relay with a time of 8:21.39, beating runner up Langley by over 35 seconds.

In the weight throw, Curt Smith (Chillicothe) took home the win, and moved into second place in the state with a throw of 53'2". 

Girls Results 

Britney Sims (Eastmoor Academy) won the 55m dash with a time of 7.44, which moves her to fifth place in the state.  Sims also would take home the silver in the 200m with a time of 27.67, with Olyvia Griffin (Wayne) taking the first with a time of 27.52 seconds.

Langley (Pennsylvania) won the 4x800 with Wayne coming in second.  Wayne's time of 10:28.66 is currently the third fastest time in the state.

In the field events, Pam Showman of Ursuline Academy in Cincinnati won the high jump by going 5'2" and is now tied for fifth place in the state.

Jade Reibold (Olentangy Liberty) won the pole vault by vaulting 11'0" and moves into the number two spot in the state this season.

Rosie White (New Albany) leaped 17'6.5" in the long jump.  This jump moved white into the top spot in the state rankings.

Reynoldsburg dominated the shot put field, taking the top three spots.  Freshman, Michelle Hampton won the shot with a heave of 37'7", followed by fellow teamate Donyelle Brown's throw of 36'5" (Brown is also a freshman).  Third place went to Lauren Sloan with a throw of 33'10". 

Oberlin College HS Meet #2 - Jan. 27th 

Boys Resuts 

Travis Smith (Euclid) was a two time winner, taking home the gold in both the 55m dash (6.62, currently 10th in the state) and the 200m with a time of 23.97 seconds.

Landon Hamilton (Pymatuning Valley) won the 3200m by breaking ten minutes with a time of 9:57.99, which is good enough for third place in the state.

In the shot put, Zach Marrinucci (Brunswick) held off Autin Levering (River Valley-Caledonia) by going 55'6" to Levering's 53'11".  Marrinucci's thow is currently the second farthest throw in the state, and Levering's is the fifth farthest throw in the state.

Girls Results 

The 800m was won by Hillary Weismiller of Pennsylvania, with a time of 2:30.22.  Liz Hess (Berkshire) came in second with a time of 2:30.88, while Katie Borgelt (McComb) in 2:31.22.  Hess' and Borgelt's times were good enough for the fourth and fifth fastest times on the state leaderborad this year.

In the 1600m, Hess and Borgelt switched spots, with Borgelt coming in second with a time of 5:29.84 and Hess in third with a time of 5:35.62.

Besides a second and third place finish for Borgelt in the previous races, Borgelt also took home a first place finish in the the 3200m with a time of 12:16.04, which puts her in sixth place in the state.

In the shot, Kaitlyn Griffith (Orrville) continued her impressive indoor season by winning the meet and joining the 40' club with a heave of 40'11".  Griffith's throw is now the second farthest in the state.
