Bolles Girls Distance Test Early Season Stamina At MileSplit Scholastic Showcase at SPIRE

Five members of the Bolles girls track team made the trek out west to the MileSplit Scholastic Showcase at SPIRE in Geneva, Ohio. Fortunately for Ally Hajda, Rachel Shapiro, Suzanne Dannheim, Mackensie Wilson, Brittany Wilkinson, and Coach Tony Ryan the meet was indoors. Temperature on race day was a crisp MINUS 10 degrees.

Hajda competed in heat one of the 1,600m and finished 10th in 5:08.76, while Shapiro and Dannheim were in heat two and placed 16th (5:12.22) and 19th (5:15:45), all very respectable times early on in the track season. Wilson and Wilkinson competed in heat one of the 3,200 where they were 10th (11:13.37) and 20th (11:49.79) Hajda, Shapiro, Wilson and Dannheim teamed up in the 4x8 an event Bolles has won in recent state meets, and placed third.

Coach Ryan said afterwards, "It was a great experience to run at this great indoor facility and the girls got to watch Erin Finn from Michigan run 15:38 for 5k indoors on Friday night."

They also enjoyed the snowy weather as well having a little fun outside! Special thanks to Coach Ryan and Brian Wilson for sharing the following photos with us from the team's trip to Ohio!
