The Asic's Hot Summer Bash at Hilliard Davidson should be a telling early season meet. On the girl's side, of the nine teams entered, 4 are Ohio D1 Top 10 ranked. #1 Centerville leads a girl's field that includes: #3 Olentangy Liberty, #7 Gahanna Lincoln and #9 Hilliard Davidson. On the boys side, Centerville also heads to Hilliard with the D1 #4 ranked boy's team.
GIRL'S RACE
Is this the weekend that Centerville lets us see just how good the girls team is? They are the defending D1 State champions and the #1 ranked girl's team in the State. Just two weeks ago the girl's dominated the OHSAA Early Season Invitational scoring 45 points to Liberty's 85. The Centerville girl's went 2+6+8+12+17 (30+81). The Davidson girls were 5th. The Centerville girls will be challenged however, by three very strong, improving, Central Ohio teams: #3 Olentangy Liberty, #7 Gahanna Lincoln and #9 Hilliard Davidson.

The girls individual race features Sr. Hilliard Davidson's India Johnson. Johnson is one of the best, if not the best girl in the State. She has a D1 #3 ranking at this time, but as we all know, times can be misleading in XC. Centerville So. Grace Kilroy, the D1 #4, OH #8 ranked girl in Ohio will challenge Johnson, along with Liberty's top two runners, Emma Bower (OH D1 #9) and Gracie Sprankle (OH D1 #12). The girls all ran up front with Johnson in the Early Season Invitational through the two-mile.

BOY'S RACE
The Centerville Boy's are ranked D1 #4 and Pickerington Central is ranked D1 #10. These are the only two Top 10 ranked teams. Expect Centerville to win the team race, but they will be pushed by Pick. Central, St. Ignatius and Davidson. Centerville's 4 & 5 runners may be to strong for Pick. Central, Ignatius and Davidson to overcome, but the race for 2nd should be exciting. The Virtual meet shows Pick. Central and Ignatius with 72 & 74 points and Davidson with 89.

In the individual race, a battle between two of the best juniors in the State, Dustin Horter of Lakota East and Matt Scrape of Pickerington Central. Horter is ranked OH #7 and Scrape OH #8. They faced each other two weeks ago at the OHSAA Early Season Invitational with Scrape getting the advantage over Horter. Scrape was 2nd and Horter 3rd with with just over a 4 second separation between the two.
