The Ohio weather cooperated and provided nearly perfect running conditions for the athletes and the State meet provided the expected and the unexpected and the individual and team drama almost as if it was scripted.  It was a day for the junior class with the juniors picking up 5 of the individual State titles.  The boy's races came first and Jr. Chad Johnson of Colonel Crawford took home the DIII State title in 15:18.40 with Ft. Loramie winning the team title in somewhat of an upset over St. Thomas Aquinas and the defending champions, Maplewood.  Buckeye Valley Jr. Zach Kreft got the DII individual title running a new DII course record of 15:16.40. The old record of 15:25.09 was set in 2011 by Napleon's Steven Weaver.  Woodridge got the Team Title.  The DI boy's race was one by Jr. Dustin Horter of Lakota East in 15:02.80, as Sr. Hunter Moore of Olentangy Liberty, with the lead with about 400m to go, fell, allowing seven runner to get by him before he recovered to finish 8th.  The DI team title went a Solon team that has dominated this season.

The girl's races followed the boys in the afternoon with the DIII individual title going to Jr. Emily Sreenan of Lima Central Catholic.  Sreenan went out strong winning by 23 seconds in 18:01.80. The Minster girl's won the DIII team title scoring a low 38 points.  The DII race went to Beachwood Jr. Leah Roter who won her first individual title in 17:55.10, leading wire-wire.  The Woodridge girls won the team title to stand atop the DII podium along with their winning boy's teammates.  The sole Sr. winner of the day was Hilliard Davidson's India Johnson who smashed the DI course record with a winning time of 17:28.60.  The old record of 17:39.31 was set in 2012 by Jacquelyn Crow of Lebanon.  The Centerville girls defended their team title.
