Tuslaw's Ke'Aijhan Strong won the 400m state championship in a time of 57.19.
Previous recap articles of the OATCCC Indoor State Championship focused on field events, team relay competitions and distance races for girls and boys in D1 and D2 / D3, so we will now begin our review of the girls D2 / D3 sprints.
Alysse Wade of St. Peter's Mansfield had quite a day in Akron as she claimed state championship wins in both the 60m and 60m Hurdles races. In the 60m, Wade produced an Ohio #6 winning time of 7.57 while in the 60m Hurdles competition, Alysse Wade registered a time of 8.96 to claim the state championship title. Layah Busbee of Beaumont School was the 2nd place finisher in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 9.16 and Perry's Leah King took 3rd place with her 9.17 effort.
Alysse Wade of St. Peter's Mansfield won the 60m race in an Ohio #6 time of 7.57.
Alysse Wade also won the state championship in the 60m Hurdles event in Akron.
In 200m action, Beachwood's Mia Knight claimed the win in a time of 25.18 with Alysse Wade of St. Peter's Mansfield taking 2nd spot in 25.25. Ke'Aijhan Strong of Tuslaw High School rounded out the top 3 with her 25.72 result.
Mia Knight of Beachwood High School won the 200m race in a time of 25.18.
Ke'Aijhan Strong complemented her 3rd place effort in the 200m race with her state championship win in the 400m event. Tuslaw's Strong registered an Ohio #5 time of 57.19 on route to securing the win. Karlie Zumbro of John Glenn High School finished 2nd in an Ohio #13 time of 58.85.
Ke'Aijhan Strong of Tuslaw High School topped a strong field of runners in the 400m race.
