Interview: Sprinter Jamal Walton Confident In Building Legacy At Miramar High

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Is Florida the fastest state in the nation?

Perhaps that's a debate worth another day. But there's no question some of the fastest boys -- and girls -- reside in the Sunshine State. The rankings in the 100m, 200m and 400m certainly don't lie.

So Milesplit trekked to Fort Lauderale this week to spend time with some of the best in the country.

Miramar (Fl.) High junior Jamal Walton is ranked US #3 in the 200m and US #2 in the 400m after a searing 45.99 second performance at a qualifier meet on Tuesday. He's being recruited by the likes of the University Georgia, Miami and many more.

But before he lands in college, the junior has big plans. Can he break 45 seconds in the 400m? Check out how Walton views his current season and what his hopes are for the future in the above video.
