Washington Court House Invitational - Recap

           The start of the 2000m Steeplechase at the Washington Court House Invitational.


MileSplit Ohio was on site to take in the action at the recent Washington Court House Invitational in Washington Court House, Ohio.  High level track and field action was demonstrated with many state ranked results being posted in the running, throwing and jumping events.  


Chayden Pitzer of McClain High School won the 100m race in an Ohio tie for #29 time of 12.56 and she also took 1st place in the 200m race with her Ohio #35 result of 26.05.  


           McClain's Chayden Pitzer picked up a pair of wins at the Washington Court House Invitational.


Fairfield Christian Academy's Ruthie Johnson won the 400m race in an Ohio #24 time of 59.77 and Maame Adu of Fairfield Christian High School took the 800m win with her 2:25.67 effort. 


           Ruthie Johnson of Fairfield Christian Academy recorded a 3 second win in the 400m race.


           Maame Adu of Fairfield Christian Academy secured the 800m win in a time of 2:25.67.


Kyleigh Edwards of Fairfield Christian Academy claimed the 1600m win with an Ohio #15 time of 5:10.95 and Unioto's Alex Evans took 2nd place with her Ohio #30 result of 5:17.01.  Blanchester's Savannah Rhodes was the winner of the 3200m race with her time of 12:38.87.  


           Fairfield Christian Academy's Kyleigh Edwards took a 7 second victory in the 1600m race. 


           Alex Evans of Unioto High School posted an Ohio #30 result of 5:17.01 in the 1600m race. 


           Savannah Rhodes of Blanchester HS registered an 8 second victory in the 3200m race.


Maddy Garrison of Washington-Court House High School won the 2000m Steeplechase in an Ohio #3 time of 8:09.18.  Bryce DeLong of Circleville High School finished 2nd in 9:14.13 and Chillicothe's Ella Cuzzolini took 3rd place with her 9:14.41 result.

           Maddy Garrison won the 2000m Steeplechase event by 65 seconds. 



           Circleville's Bryce DeLong finished 2nd in the 2000m Steeplechase with a time of 9:14.13. 


           Ella Cuzzolini of Chillicothe High School took 3rd place in the 2000m Steeplechase event. 


Brielle Collier of Westerville South High School made her presence known at the Washington Court House Invitational as she picked up three wins.  Collier won the 100m hurdles race (no time recorded), as well as the 300m hurdles event in an Ohio #12 time of 46.09.  Brielle Collier also secured the victory in the Long Jump event with her 16-00.25 effort.

Washington-Court House teammates Megan Downing and Jaelyn Mason finished 1 - 2 in the Pole Vault event with Downing taking the win with her 9-00.00 jump.  Mason was close behind in 2nd place with her matching vault of 9-00.00.  


           Megan Downing secured the Pole Vault win with her vault of 9-00.00.  


           Jaelyn Mason finished a close 2nd in the Pole Vault event with her jump of 9-00.00.  


Dominique Long of Westerville South High School won the 100m in 11.13 and he took 2nd place in the 200m with his 22.50 result.  Issac Naayers of Fairfield Christian Academy was the 200m winner with his Ohio #15 time of 22.37.  


           Dominique Long took a close win over McClain's Tristan Pitzer in the 100m race. 


           Issac Naayers edged Westerville South's Dominique Long to win the 200m race in 22.37. 


In 400m action, Cedarville's Devin Gruet tied the #16 mark in the state with his 50.30 winning effort and Brandon Underwood of Washington-Court House High School claimed the 800m win with his result of 2:05.71. 


           Devin Gruet of Cedarville High School secured the 400m win with his time of 50.30. 


           Brandon Underwood won the 800m race as he narrowly edged Ty Chapman


Unioto's Tucker Markko won the 1600m race in 4:44.86 and he was followed closely by 2nd place finisher Brendon McCormick of Rock Hill High School.  McCormick recorded a finishing time of 4:46.23.  Unioto's Isaiah West took the 3200m race win with his 10:27.28 finishing time.  


           Tucker Markko of Unioto High School took a close win in the 1600m race. 


           Rock Hill's Brendon McCormick finished 2nd in the 1600m race with his time of 4:46.23. 


           Unioto's Isaiah West took an emphatic victory in the 3200m race as he won by 19 seconds. 


Cohl Seyfang of Circleville High School won both hurdles events, as he recorded 1st place finishing times of 15.50 in the 110m hurdles race and 40.62 in the 300m hurdles race.  


           Circleville's Cohl Seyfang collected a pair of wins at the Washington Court House Invitational. 


Fairfield Christian Academy's Luke Kumler, Cedarville's Jonah Sheridan and Malachi Rispress of Westerville South High School put forth spirited efforts in their 2000m Steeplechase contest as these top three finishers were separated by only 3 seconds.  Kumler took the race win in 7:06.04 and Sheridan took 2nd place in 7:07.77.  Rispress rounded out the top 3 with his result of 7:09.40.  


           Luke Kumler won the highly competitive 2000m Steeplechase event with his 7:06.04 result. 


           Jonah Sheridan took 2nd place in the 2000m Steeplechase with his time of 7:07.77. 


           Malachi Rispress recorded a time of 7:09.40 to secure 3rd place in the 2000m Steeplechase.


In field action, Hillsboro's Austin Goolsby won the Pole Vault event with his vault of 15-07 and Issac Naayers of Fairfield Christian Academy took the High Jump win with his jump of 6-04.  Goolsby was also the winner of the Long Jump competition with his jump of 21-00.75.  Blanchester's Joey Holcumb won both the Shot Put and Discus events with his throws of 46-05.00 in the Shot Put and 137-03 in the Discus.  


           Austin Goolsby is the #1 ranked Pole Vault athlete in Ohio from a previous result this season.


           Issac Naayers edged Jeremy Hayton to win the High Jump event with his 6-04 result. 


           Blanchester's Joey Holcumb picked up two wins at the Washington Court House Invitational.

           Mark Gallimore of Hillsboro HS finished 3rd in the Pole Vault event with his 12-06 result.  


           Kaylee Hurley of McClain High School posted a time of 2:30.33 in the 800m race.  


           Jacquelin Boadi finished 2nd in the Long Jump competition with her jump of 15-06.00.  


           Marion Jones of Unioto High School competed in the Long Jump event.
