The athletes persevered in difficult weather conditions at the Miele Invitational.
The Miele Invitational took place at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio on Saturday, May 6th. The athletes who competed battled unfavorable conditions as strong winds, rain and cold temperatures were present throughout the duration of the meet.
Sydney Hlifka of Gilmour Academy won the 800m race in time of 2:28.79 and Gilmour Academy's Katie Engle took the 1600m win with her 5:33.48 result.
Sydney Hlifka won the 800m race by two seconds at the Miele Invitational.
Katie Engle won the 1600m race by fifteen seconds at the Miele Invitational.
Jorja Hlifka of Gilmour Academy won the 3200m race with her 12:08.07 effort.
Gilmour Academy's Jorja Hlifka won the 3200m race by five seconds.
Cory Bouchek of Gilmour Academy won the 800m race with his time of 2:08.92 and Walsh Jesuit's Ryan Tatton claimed 1st place in the 1600m event with his time of 4:56.03.

Walsh Jesuit's Ryan Tatton won the 1600m race by eleven seconds at the Miele Invitational.
Gilmour Academy's Tyler Clark finished 1st in the 3200m race with his 10:15.22 result.

Warrensville Heights High School's Demetri Keaton and Deion Farmer both captured a pair of wins at the Miele Invitational. Keaton won the 100m and 200m races in 10.82 and 22.00 respectively. Demetri Keaton's 200m effort represents a tie for Ohio #7 for the outdoor season. Deion Farmer finished 1st in the Shot Put competition with his throw of 41-10.50 and he also won the Discus event with his throw of 121-07.
