Division 2 Region 5 - Austintown Fitch - Meet Recap

           Demetri Keaton won the 200m race in a time of 21.57 at the Division 2 Region 5 meet.


The Division 2 Region 5 meet took place at Austintown Fitch High School and MileSplit Ohio was on site to observe the spirited competition that took place.  At stake were OHSAA State Track and Field Championship invites, as the top four finishers in each event are eligible to compete at next weekend's prestigious meet.  The OHSAA State Track and Field Championship is set to take place at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus.  


Perry's Leah King won the 100m hurdles race in a time of 14.54 and Sara Foster of St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School took 1st place in the 300m hurdles event with her 43.77 result.  This time represents an Ohio #9 for the outdoor season.  


           Leah King of Perry HS topped a strong field of athletes to win the 100m hurdles race. 


           St. Vincent-St. Mary's Sara Foster won the 300m hurdles race at the Division 2 Region 5 meet.


Mia Knight of Beachwood High School won the 100m race in a time of 12.11 and Ravenna's Azsah Bradley took 2nd place with her 12.17 effort.  In the 200m race, these same two athletes finished 1st and 2nd but this time the order was reversed as Bradley claimed the win in 24.94 and Knight followed close behind to secure the 2nd spot with her 24.95 result.  Mia Knight's time represents a tie for Ohio #18 while Azsah Bradley occupies a tie for 11th position in the state rankings from a 24.73 performance earlier this season.


           Mia Knight edged Azsah Bradley to win the 100m race the Division 2 Region 5 meet.  


           Azsah Bradley made a late charge to take a narrow win in the 200m race.  


Tuslaw's Ke'Aijhan Strong won the 400m race with her Ohio # 7 time of 55.79 and Halle McClintock of Chagrin Falls High School took 1st place in the 800m event with her 2:13.24 effort.  This time represents an Ohio #8 for the outdoor season. 


           Ke'Aijhan Strong of Tuslaw High School took the 400m race win in a fast time of 55.79.  


           Halle McClintock of Chagrin Falls High School won the 800m race by two seconds.  


Chagrin Falls' Annie Zimmer took the win in the 1600m race with her Ohio #24 time of 5:02.80 and she was followed by Beaumont's Ashley Rulison who secured 2nd place with her Ohio #29 time of 5:04.78.  Alison D'Alessandro of West Geauga High School won the Pole Vault event with her vault of 11-06. 


           Chagrin Falls' Annie Zimmer topped a strong field of runners to take the 1600m win.  


           Beaumont's Ashley Rulison secured 2nd place in the 1600m race with her 5:04.78 effort. 


           The 1600m race was one of the many exciting contests that took place on Saturday.  


           Alison D'Alessandro topped a talented field of vaulters to win the Pole Vault event.  


In team relay action, Beachwood High School won the 4 x 100m in an Ohio #10 time of 48.70 and Buchtel High School took 1st place in the 4 x 200m with their Ohio #11 time of 1:42.22.  


           Mia Knight ran a strong anchor leg to help Beachwood HS secure the 4 x 100m relay win. 


           Buchtel High School won the 4 x 200m relay in an Ohio #11 time of 1:42.22.  


Dakari Carter of Streetsboro High School won the 100m race in an Ohio tie for #5 time of 10.67 and Demetri Keaton of Warrensville Heights High School took 1st place in the 200m event with his Ohio #5 time of 21.57. 


           Streetsboro's Dakari Carter topped a strong field of sprinters on route to his 100m race win.


           Warrensville Heights' Demetri Keaton set a new P.R. and a school record in the 200m race.


Woodridge's Jacob Mally took the win the 110m hurdles race with his Ohio #17 time of 14.60 and Rob Lozier of West Branch High School won the 300m hurdles event with his 38.86 result.  Jacob Mally also won the High Jump event with his Ohio tie for #30 jump of 6-04.  


           Jacob Mally of Woodridge HS won the 110m hurdles race in an Ohio #17 time of 14.60. 


           Rob Lozier finished strong to edge Jacob Mally for the win in the 300m hurdles race. 


           Jacob Mally demonstrated impressive form and concentration while winning the High Jump.


De Amonte King of St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School won the 400m race with his Ohio #7 time of 48.43 and Woodridge's Max Starvaggi took the win in the 800m event with his 1:54.88 effort. Starvaggi's time represents an Ohio #20 for the outdoor season.  Josh Cramer of Orange High School claimed 1st place in the 1600m race with his 4:24.06 result.   


           De Amonte King held off a fast charging Keshun Jones to earn the 400m race win. 


           Max Starvaggi of Woodridge High School won the 800m race in a time of 1:54.88.  


           Josh Cramer of Orange High School won the 1600m race in a time of 4:24.06.  


In team relay competition, Warrensville Heights High School won the 4 x 100m in a time of 42.21 and St. Vincent-St. Mary High School took 1st place in the 4 x 200m with their Ohio #5 time of 1:27.56.  


           Demetri Keaton ran a fast anchor leg to help Warrensville Heights take the 4 x 100m win.  


           St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School won the 4 x 200m relay in an Ohio #5 time of 1:27.56.
