MileSplit / SPIRE Scholastic Showcase - Qualification Standards

           Cameron Cooper won the 800m race at the 2017 SPIRE Showcase with his time of 1:50.07. 


The 2018 MileSplit / SPIRE Scholastic Showcase will take place on Sunday, February 11th at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Qualification Standards


In order to gain acceptance to compete at the 2018 MileSplit / SPIRE Scholastic Showcase, an athlete must have previously achieved the following minimum standards:

* Please note that meeting the standards stated above does not guarantee entry to the MileSplit SPIRE Scholastic Showcase.  There will be 30 to 36 athletes invited to compete in each event and the applicants with the best verified times / marks will be those who are accepted.  

* Preference will be granted to current / returning SPIRE Showcase Champions and current / returning State Champions.  

* Ordered criteria which guides our athlete selection decision making is as follows:

  1. 2018 indoor performances

  2. 2017 indoor performances

  3. 2017 outdoor performances

* Note: we intend on accepting many 4 x 400m and 4 x 800m relay teams (both boys and girls) in order to give as many athletes as possible an opportunity to compete at one of Ohio's premier indoor track and field meets.

* Lists of accepted athletes will be published on MileSplit Ohio in early February.
