Former Ohio High School Standouts Post Big College Results

           Natalie Price, formerly of Granville, finished tenth in the 400m event at the Florida Relays.

Natalie Price, Jake Wickey and Emily Richards are among many former Ohio high school athletes who have recorded excellent 2018 outdoor season results at the college level during the early portion of the schedule.  The trio all enjoyed breakout performances over the past few days.  

           Natalie Price / Granville (Indiana University) 

Natalie Price, who competes for the Indiana Hoosiers, placed tenth in the 400m event at the highly competitive Florida Relays with her time of 53.36.  Her result represents the fourth fastest 400m time in school history.  Price won the 2017 D1 OHSAA State Championship due to her 52.96 effort and she established her high school pr of 52.93 at the Division 1 Region 3 meet last May.  


           Jake Wickey / Medina (Kent State University

Jake Wickey of Kent State University took the hammer throw win at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati with his outstanding throw of 57.41m.  Wickey, who graduated from Medina in 2017, won the hammer throw event at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championship last June in Kansas due to his throw of 209-7. 


           Emily Richards / Hayes (Ohio Northern University) 

Emily Richards claimed third place finishes in the 800m and 1500m races at the Raleigh Relays with her impressive times of 2:03.63 and 4:15.77, respectively.  Richards' 1500m effort is a new school record and the third fastest time in Division III history.
