Kevin Hadsell, the University of Toledo's director of track and field and cross country programs, announced the hiring of Adam Kiesler to the track and field staff as a graduate assistant coach. Kiesler comes to Toledo after having spent the last two years as the women's sprint, jump and hurdles coach at Central Michigan University.
"I am happy to add Adam to our staff," Hadsell said. "I think he is going to do a great job at building up the sprint and hurdles crew, and he is very motivated as a recruiter as well. He fits well within our coaching philosophy."
While at Central Michigan, Kielser's athletes made the finals at the MAC Championships in every sprinting event, while he also coached two MAC champions in the high jump.
Prior to coaching at Central Michigan, Kiesler served as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Michigan. He competed for the Wolverines from 2002-07 in both the long jump and multi-events and graduated in 2007 with a degree in Earth Sciences.
At Toledo, Kiesler will be working specifically with the sprints and hurdles. The Rochester, Illinois native earned his USA Track and Field Level I certification during his time at Michigan.
