Pallini joins Marietta track and field staff

MARIETTA, Ohio -- Marietta College Head Coach Derek Stanley recently introduced 2009 graduate Brian Pallini as the newest member of the Pioneers' track and field coaching staff. Pallini will begin his first season as the Marietta throwing coach.

“I am excited about transferring my success competing for Marietta College into coaching,” Pallini said.

“Brian brings a unique experience to this staff being a graduate of Marietta,” Stanley said. “He has been a successful athlete within the structure and will now be able to help his teammates from the coaching side. This will allow the throwers to be comfortable with someone they are already familiar.”

Pallini was a four-year letterman in both indoor and outdoor track and field. During his career, he compiled an impressive resume. The five-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree won the OAC's Weight Throw title in 2008. In 2009, Pallini earned All-America honors after taking eighth place at in the Weight Throw at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship. He holds the school records in four events–Shot Put (indoor and outdoor), Weight Throw and Hammer Throw.

“He has worked as hard as any thrower I have coached to be successful and he knows what it takes,” Stanley said. “He is a student of the throwing events in track & field and that will translate to his coaching ability and he get underway with his coaching career here at Marietta.”
