Women's Cross Country Picked Eighth in Preseason Poll

The Bowling Green women's cross country team has been picked to finish eighth by the Mid-American Conference head cross country coaches in a poll that was released on Tuesday, August 25.

Miami, which won its first Mid-American Conference Championship last season by beating second place Akron by 42 points, is expected to repeat in 2009.

Akron (second), Ohio (third), Toledo (fourth) and Kent State (fifth) round out the top five.

The Falcons return three runners from their squad which finished fifth in the MAC last season.

Bowling Green will open up the season on Friday, September 4 in a dual at Toledo set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
