Sat, Sep, 19 | Men's Cross Country

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Chris Moody was 47th among runners affiliated with a team at The 15th Annual Br. John “Paddy” Doyle Meet of Champions Saturday and the Falcons placed 18th out of 22 teams in the 8K event in The Bronx, New York.

Fellow Mid-American Conference member Kent Sate won the event with 59 points. Bowling Green ended up with 515 points. Eric Finan, of Cincinnati, was the top runner affiliated with a team as he finished in 25:21.60.

The complete results can be found here.

"There were a lot of highly ranked and Kent State ran a very strong race," head coach Cami Wells said. "We handled all the hills well.

"We're moving in the right direction and we're getting more consistent."

Moody, a junior from Davidsonville, Maryland, crossed the finish line with a time of 26:42.31.

Jason Salyer took 93rd place among affiliated runners with a time of 27:43.06.

Jesse Smuda and Jeff Ehler were the next two runners to finish for the Falcons. Smuda was 118th with a time of 28:18.51 and Ehler was 123rd crossing the finish line in 28:35.85.

"Jeff Ehler ran one of the best races he has ever run," Wells said

Abraham Busienei (29:11.77), Ben Leininger (29:21.94) and John Bernard (30:20.02) also raced for the Falcons.

Wells was pleased with the results on such a challenging course and thinks this meet will help the team in future races.

"We're going to get some better rest and gear up for the next meet in a couple of weeks," Wells said.

Bowling-Green will be off next weekend and will compete in the All-Ohio Championships at Delaware, Ohio on Friday, October 2 at 2:45 p.m.
