The John Carroll Blue Streaks women's cross country team secured its third title of the season, as five JCU runners finished in the top 35 of the Wilmington College Fall Classic, held Friday in Wilmington, Ohio.
Final Results
John Carroll tallied 85 points on the day to outduel Ohio Athletic Conference foe Otterbein College by six points.
Leading the way for the Streaks was sensational freshman
Ashley Aberl (Toledo, OH, Notre Dame) who finished the Classic second overall with a mark of 18:43.
Also placing inside the top-ten for the Streaks with a time of 19:08 (8th) was senior
Tricia Doherty (Chicago, IL, Marist).
Senior
Emily Tillmaand (Xenia, OH, Xenia) (19:15) finished in 11th, while teammates
Megan Lutz (Oil City, Pa, Venango Catholic) (20:16) and
Kelly Grieve (Toledo, OH, Sylvania Southview) (20:26) finished 30th and 34th respectively.
FInishing just inside the top-50 for the Streaks was senior
Lauren Stayer (Dayton, OH, Chaminade-Julienne), who finished with a time of 20:40 which was good for 47th place.
John Carroll's other wins this fall occured at the Ric Sayre Invitational in September and the Don Cathcart Invitational in early October.
