Week In Review: Conference Week
We just wrapped up the start of the most exciting three weeks in Ohio High School Cross Country. For the next two Saturdays teams will toe the line in hopes of advancing to the next round, while some will rejoice in running another week, others will be left wondering what they could have done to extend their season. In a short three weeks we will find out who is the best and who were just pretenders. Let the State Tournament begin. But first let's take a look back at this past weeks conference meets.
Saturday October 10th
OVAC - Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Meet

Overall
Alex Thornburg of St. Clairsville took home the medalist honors by finishing the 5k course in a time of 16:11. Team wise though, Thornburg's victory wasn't enough for St. Clairsville to hold off St. John Central, who put 5 runners in the top 15 to capture the title over St. Clairsville, 42-55.
On the ladies side, St. Clairsville won the meet by 105 points over Harrison Central, 29-134. St. Clairsville was able to go 1-3-4-5, with Kelly Perzanowski winning the race in a time of 18:39.
A
Luke Holubeck of St. John Central lead his team to the overall title by finishing third overall and tops in the A division with a time of 16:24.
Sarah Kosky was the top finisher in a time of 20:09 and lead St. John Central to being the top team in the A division
AA
Barnesville was the top finishing team in the AA Division while Jeremy Anderson of Fort Frye was the top finisher in the division while finishing second overall with a time of 16:19.
Wheeling Central Catholic (WV) was the low scoring team in the AA Division, while Sarah Biehl of Fort Frye was the top finisher in 19:56.
AAA
Alex Thornburg of St. Clairsville was the top finisher in this division and the overall winner. St. Clairsville finished runner up overall and was the top AAA division team.
St. Clairsville was the top finishing team and was lead by overall medalist Kelly Perzanowski.
AAAA
Wheeling Park (WV) was the top placing team and was lead by the top finisher in the AAAA division, Logan Wojick, who finished in 16:44.
Maggie MciIvain of East Liverpool was the top finisher in the AAAA Division by finishing in a time of 20:00 while Wheeling Park (WV) was the top placing team in this division.
Tuesday October 13th
Dayton Public League Championship
At Triangle Park
The Dunbar boys captured the team title by going 1,2,4,5,6,7,8 in the team scoring, while senior Davon Daniel of Thurgood Marshall captured the individual title.
On the girls side, Thurgood Marshall squeaked by Dunbar, 26-29, and were lead by senior Jessica Glasper.

At Western Reserve Academy in Hudson
Ohio Valley Conference Championship
At Fairland
The Fairland boys dominated this conference meet by taking places, 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and scoring only 19 points, 40 points ahead of runner up River Valley-Cheshire. Fairland was lead by Joe Stewart, who finished in 17:24.94.
Fairland's girls also were able to hold off River Valley-Cheshire for a team title, 22-37. Individual top honors went to River Valley's Katie Blodgett who finished with a time of 20:49.65.
Wednesday October 14th
South Central Ohio League Championship
At Hillsboro
Samantha Stroker of Miami Trace won the girls individual title in a time of 20:51.40, while London won the girls team title by holding off Clinton Massie, 23-32, by placing three runners in the top 5 and all five scorers in the top 10.
London and Hillsboro both scored 52 points, but London came out on top by having the lower sixth man. London's sixth runner finished in 19th place, while Hillsboro's sixth runner finished in 20th place. Clinton Massie's Myles Corcoran captured the individual title by finishing in 17:09.50, twenty seconds faster than the runner-up finisher.
Tri Valley Conference Championship
At Alexander
Phillip Dakhnovets won the individual championship on the way to leading his Athens team to the team title. Athens was able to place all five runners in the top ten to beat Southern-Racince 26-83.
Athens was equally impressive on the girls side, placing six runners in the top 10 to beat Vinton County, 19-44. Individually, Athens' Sierra Finnearty took top honors by finishing the 5k jaunt in a time of 20:41.86.
Thursday October 15th
Midwest Athletic Conference Championship
At Coldwater
National Elite Performances
On the boys side, OH D3 #9 Minster barely held off OH D3 #11 St. Henry, 61-62. OH D3 #18 Coldwater finished third with 85 team points. Minster's team title was helped by placing two in the top ten and that their fifth runner held off St. Henry's fifth runner. In the individual race, New Bremen's Justin Eilerman (16:27.20) was able to hold off freshman phenom Sam Prakel (16:34.20) of Versailles by seven seconds.
In the girls individual race Tammy Berger of OH D3 #2 Versailles cruised to the gold medal by finishing in a time of 19:03.30, over fifty seconds ahead of the runner-up. In the team race OH D3 #1 Minster placed all five runners in the top 10, and both displacers finished in the top 15, to lead the team to a 32-47 victory over OH D2 #5 Coldwater. Versailles finished in third with 52 points.
Ohio Heritage Conference CC Championships
At Cedarville
This is another race that had to go to a sixth place tiebreaker. After five runners Northeastern and West Liberty-Salem were both tied at 45 points, but West Liberty-Salem won on the sixth place tie breaker. West Liberty-Salem's sixth runner finished in 20th place, while Northeastern's sixth runner finished in 21st place. Individually, Northeastern junior Michael Lanning took the gold by finishing in a time of 17:26.87.
Freshman Shawnda Henault guided her West Liberty-Salem team to the team championship by capturing the individual title in a time of 20:09.76, nearly thirty seconds faster than the runner up. West Liberty-Salem finished with 25 points, thirty-five points ahead of team runner up Northeastern.
Friday October 16th

At Perry YMCA
National Elite Performances
North-Eastlake was able to secure the boys team championship over Riverside-Painesville, 68-76, because they were able to put four runners in the top 15 finishers. Individually, Greg Jantzen of University School took the medalist honors by finishing in a time of 16:04.20.
On the girls side, Chardon donimated the competition, placing all seven runners in the top 11, and scoring just 17 points. Second place, team wise, came down to sixth place tie breaker as both Madison and Riverside-Painesville both scored 73 team points, with Madison finishing as the overall runner up by having their sixth runner finish two spots in front of Riverside-Painesville's sixth runner. Individually, Chardon's Corrine Kule took first place by finishing with a time of 19:32.10.
Metro Buckeye Conference Championship
At Legacy Ministy XC Course
The defending D3 State Champion, Isaiah Bragg of Emmanuel Christian Academy took home the gold medal at this league meet by crossing the line in 17:45.70. Team wise, Troy Christian was the top finishing team, beating Yellow Springs 28-67.
Xenia Christian narrowly edged Miami Valley School, 45-46. Xenia Christian was lead by medalist Bethany Norman, who finished the course in 20:14.60, over a full minute in front of the runner up.
Saturday October 17th
Central Buckeye Conference Championship
At Graham
Overall Conference
OH D2 #4 Tippecanoe showed that they are a team to contend with, lead by a 1,2,3 placing and by scoring a mere, 43 points to beat OH D2 #19 Graham (63 team points), OH D2 #17 Bellefontaine (87 team points) OH D2 bubble team Shawnee-Springfield (127 team points), and OH D2 #20 Kenton Ridge ( 169 team points). Individually, Kevin Fink of Tippecanoe captured the gold medal over his fellow teamates by finishing in a time of 16:34.57.
On the girls side, OH D2 #16 Greenon was the overall conference champion, and was helped by placing 3 in the top 5, to score just 40 points, 29 points ahead of runner up Tecumseh's 69 team points. Individually Katie Landwehr of Tippecanoe was able to hold off Tecumseh's Jasmine Redman, 19:48.87 to 19:52.86.
Kenton Trial Division
Tippecanoe and Kevin Fink were the team and individual top finishers in the Kenton Trail Division on the boys side.
Tecumseh was the top finishing team in the Kenton Trail Division, and Katie Landwehr was the division champion.
Mad River Division
While Graham may have finished second overall, they were the top finishing team from the Mad River Division., while the top finisher in the division was Graham's John McMaken, who crossed the line in 17:06.78, who was also fourth overall.
The Greenon girls were the division champs, as well as the conference champs, and were lead by divisional individual champion, Mary Wenzell, who finished in 20:24.61.
Central Catholic League
St. Charles captured the boys title by putting four runners in the top 10 and scoring just 32 team points to Watterson's 49 team points. Individual honors went to Chris Quinn of St. Charles who finished in a time of 17:24.37.
Melissa Thompson of St. Francis DeSales-Columbus lead her team to a team title, 45-63 over Columbus School for Girls, by finishing her 5k trek in a time of 20:08.90.
Chagrin Valley Conference Championships

Chagrin Division
The Aurora boys captured the team title by placing five runners in the top 15 and defeated runner up Kenston by 7 points, 46-53. Individually, Perry senior Dean Light took first place by finishing in a time of 17:06.51.
Abbie Clifford of OH D2 #8 Perry lead her team to 30-35 victory over OH D2 #17 Chagrin Falls by finishing first with a time of 19:03.98. Chagrin Falls was actually able to get their first five finishers in before Perry, but Perry was able to still take home the title by placing three runners in the top five.
Valley Division
Ryan Polman of Independence captured the individual title by beating his younger brother by nearly a half minute. Ryan's time was 16:16.73, while younger brother Kyle Polman finished with a time of 16:44.56. The Polman's helpd OH D3 #1 Independence to a convicing 18-59 over Berkshire.
On the girls side, OH D3 #5 Berkshire placed five in the top ten to post a mere 24 points to runner up Hawken's 48 team points. Alexa Bower, paced Berkshire by taking the gold medal in a time of 19:48.80.
Cross County Conference
At Tri-County North
Juli Accurso of Miami East captured the individual title by running 19:36 for the 5k, while the Covington beat Ansonia, 24-37, for the team title.
Bethel's 1-2 punch of Brandon Graves (16:55) and Aadam Loewer (17:29) helped lead their team to the conference title, 37-55 over Tri-Village.
Federal League Championship
At GlenOak
OH D1 #3 Hoover place four in the top 5 and all seven runner in the top 15 to top Massillon-Jackson 24 to 61. Allison Peare was the individual champion by finishing in 20:01.80.
OH D1 #12 Hoover won the boys race 44-46 over OH D1 #20 Massillon-Perry. The Individual champion was Christian Jones of GlenOak who finsihed in 16:34.76.
Fort Ancient Valley Conference Championship
At Harrison
National Elite Performances
Buckeye Division
Anderson put the first four runners across the line to capture the team title 24-47 over Loveland. Nick Vogele paced the Redskins and the division by running a 16:48. 20 to capture the individual division title.
Michelle Thomas of Glen Este crushed the field by finishing with a time of 18:23.50, over a minute faster than the runner up. Team wise, Anderson defeated Loveland, 36-43.
Cardinal Division
A 1-2 punch by Turpin's Nicholas El-Khoury (16:38.33) and Anthony Parnigoni (16:55.90) helped Turpin secure the team title over Kings with a score of 33-38.
Walnut Hills was able to sneak by OH D1 #13 Kings for a 29-32 victory. Individually, Walnut Hills' Erin McAuliffe captured the divisional title by finishing with a time of 19:14.60.
Scarlet Division
Placing four in the top 5, and six in the top 10, helped Talawanda secure the team title over Ross, 22-47. Phillip Bennett of Talawanda's time of 17:38.70 was good enough to take home the gold medal.
Natalie Geiger of Norwood captured the individual divisional title with a time of 21:05.10. The divisional team trophy went to Ross, who defeated Talawanda 33-40 on the girls side.
Girls Greater Cincinnati League

Grey Central Division
McNicholas, lead by Lauren Clark's first place victory in 20:36 defeated Badin 17-46.
Grey North Division
OH D2 #7 Carroll edged by OH D2 #11 Alter, 32-37, because they were able to put their five scorers all in the top 10 finishers. Individually, Lizzie Gleason of Chaminade Julienne won the North Division in a time of 19:05.
Scarlet Division
OH D1 #11 St. Ursula Academy separated themselves from the rest of the Scarlet Division by placing five in the top 15 and defeating Mother of Mercy 33-52. OH D1 #17 McAuley finished in fourth place with 80 team points. Sarah Mazzei of St. Ursula Academy took the individual title by finishing the course with a time of 19:03.
Greater Buckeye Conference
At Sandusky
National Elite Performances
The OH D2 #17 Napoleon girls team cruised to a Conference title by going 1, 2, 3 and placing six girls in the top 10 and scoring a mere 22 points to Findlay's 46 team points. Napoleon's Rachel Huddle seperated herself from the field by finishing nearly twenty seconds ahead of her teammate and runner up finisher Erica Monnin, 19:36.60 to 19:53.46.
Findlay's Matt Waaland set the tone for the Trojans by just beating runner up Steven Weaver of Napoleon, 16:19.29 to 16:19.95. As a team, Findlay also beat Napoleon 37-51.

On a side note, for a League that has this much tradition in Cross Country and so many good coaches and ambassadors of the sport, it is a shame, and unfair to the athletes, to report results in the fashion that they do. Central Division
OH D3 #19 Badin was able to hold onto a 33-46 over OH D2 #16 McNicholas by placing all seven runners in the top 13. Individually Roger Bacon's Matt Wurtzler captured the Central Division individual title by finishing in 16:34.
North Division
Carroll's Chadd Kiggins posted the fastest time of the day by completing the 5k course in 15:42 and he helped his team hold off Alter, 23-37.
South Division
OH D1 #5 St. Xavier dominated this race by placing six runners in the top 13 and finishing with low team score of 24 points to OH D1 #9 Elder's 42 points. OH D1 #16 LaSalle finsihed third with 73 team points. Individually, Josh Makin of Elder was able to hold off St. Xavier's Chris Hanson for the South Division title. St. Xavier's team looks pretty impressive from top to bottom as they won all races that they were entered in, the South Varsity race, JV race, Freshman race and the open race.

Overall Conference
The Centerville boys team might have found their lucky charm for this season, pink shorts (pictured). Since October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Centerville coaching staff decided to wear pink shorts to bring attention to the disease that, almost certainly, everybody knows somebody that has been affected by. Coach Jim Weckesser said "Breast Cancer affects many lives and families. Just in the past few years, we (Centerville) have had a coach's grandmother be diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and a recent grad's mother was also affected by the disease. So after talking with the staff and the athletes, we all decided that this was something that we could do to show our support for finding a cure." Weckesser then added "Volleyball has Volley for the Cure, this was just our little way of promoting National Breast Cancer Awareness Month." Centerville's pink shorts paid off of as they won their third overall conference title in the last three years. Centerville, a bubble team in D1 this past week, beat both OH D1 #19 Fairmont and Beavercreek, 55 to 76. Fairmont and Beavercreek were both tied through five runners, and on the sixth place runner tiebreaker, Beavercreek beat Fairmont for the runner up position 33-41. Individually, Sidney's Aaron Dinzeo's (16:13.87) strong finish helped him separate from Vandalia-Butler's Doug Norris (16: 31.04) for the win.
OH D1 #4 Springboro easily won the team title 30-68 over OH D1 #14 Lebanon. Springboro cruised to a finish in which they put four runners in the top 10 and also had the individual champion, Carly Hamilton, who finished the slow and muddy course in a time of 18:54.16.
Central Division
Centerville captured it's fifth straight divisional title 36-44 over Fairmont, while Fairmont's Dustin Davies was the individual divisional champ by finishing with a time of 16:54.90.
The Centerville girls captured the team title in large part due to the strength of their pack. Their 3-7 runners finished in places 9-13 to help them produce just 38 points, 22 points ahead of runner up Beavercreek's 60 team points. Individually Centerville's Sarah Chilson was the divisional champ by crossing the line in a time of 20:01.13.
North Division
Individually, Sidney's Aaron Dinzeo was the divisional champion while Vandalia-Bulter captured the team title, 31-47 over Troy.
Piqua's Kaele Snapp was the divisional champion by finishing with a time of 21:34.09. In the team race Troy placed five runners in the top 10 to take a 30-48 victory over Vandalia-Butler.
South Division
Lebanon won the South Division team title by placing four runners in the top 10, and six runners in the top 15, to score a total of 37 points to runner up Miamisburg's 51 team points. Mike Melko of Miamisburg was the divisional medalist by finishing with a time of 16:47.23.
Springboro also captured the divisional title over Lebanon, 25-43, with Carly Hamilton finishing as the divisional champion.
East Central Ohio League/Inter Valley Conference Championship
At Cambridge

East Central Ohio League
River View was able to capture the league title on the back of placing four runners in the top ten to beat runner up Claymont, 43-47. In the individual race, Claymont's Cory Dotts was able to hold seperate himself from his top challenger, Steve Hammond (15:53.95) of River View. Dotts time of 15:40.56 is currently the fastest time in Ohio.
Dover captured the team title 38 to 60 over New Philadelphia, while placing 4 runners in the top 10. Individually, River View's Brianna Stevens, who finished in 19:14.41.
Inter Valley Conference Overall
Sandy Valley held off Ridgewood, 31-43 to capture the IVC title. Individually Ridgwood's Brad Olinger paced the field by finishing in a time of 16:25.30.
OH D3 #19 Sandy Valley also captured the girls IVC title by placing four runners in the top five and scoring just 25 points to Garaway's 37 points. Sandy Valley's Connie Collins bested the field by running 19:21.11.
Mid Buckeye Conference Championship
OH D3 #13 Fredericktown, lead by Delany McGuire's 16:51 first place finish, beat Loudonville 48-85.
OH D3 #11 Johnstown-Monroe won the team title 23-37 over Centerburg. In the Individual race, Centerburg's Victoria Holt posted a 20:30 for the victory.
Mid Ohio Athletic Conference
Northmor, lead by Jedd Neer's 17:17 victory, defeated runner up Cardington-Lincoln 31-64.
The Northmor girls also won the MOAC title, but the girls beat Mt. Gilead 43-68. The individual champion was Natalie Field of Pleasant who clocked in at 19:57.
Mid-State League Championship
National Elite Performances
Buckeye Division
The Canal Winchester girls placed all seven in the top 10 to post a low score of 19 points, 59 points ahead of runner up Circleville's 78 points. Emily Pifer of Canal Winchester paced her team by cruising to a 19:14.70 victory.
OH D2 #15 Circleville's Brad Liston cruised to the individual title by finishing in 15:47.50, over a minute ahead of the runner up. Team wise, Teays Valley rallied behind a 2-3 finish to caputre the divisional crown 38-51 over Canal Winchester. Circleville finished in third place with 53 team points.
Ohio Division
Anna Lamb of OH D2 #9 Granville lead her team to a divisional champoinship by finishing first in a time of 20:13, and leading her team to a low total of 19 points, 42 points ahead of runner up Newark Catholic's 61 team points.
On the boy's side, Granville again captured the team title, 41-61 over Bexley. Individual top honors went to Bexley's Zach Arace who finished the 5k course in a time of 17:05.
Midland Athletic League Championship
At H.P. Eells Park
National Elite Performances
On the girls side, OH D3 #10 Senece East, lead by Brittany Stockmaster's 18:52.07, took places 1 through 4 in the team race and scored just 36 points to Old Fort's 69 team points.
Muskingum Valley League Championship
Tri-Valley senior Allison Stillwell rocked the competition by finishing the 5k course in 18:48, over a minute and a half faster than the runner up. Even with the efforts of Stillwell, Tri-Valley finished runner up to team champion Sheridan, 37-65.
Sheridan also captured the boys title, beating John Glenn 32-77. Zak Geiger of John Glenn took top honors by crossing the finish line in 17:11.
North Central Conference Championship
At Riverdale
Carson Britton's first place finish (16:58.38) helped Colonel Crawford capture the league title 40-50 over Bucyrus.
Ontario won the girls team title, 20-62 Wynford, in large part by going 1, 2, 3 in the race with Chelsea Johnson (20:28.51), Brittany Johnson (20:53.53) and Becca Stevenson (20:58.49) taking the gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively.
North Coast League Conference Championship
National Elite Performances
Blue Division
Lake Catholic boys won the team championship on the strength of their pack who went 3 through 6 with just a seven second spread. Lake Catholic scored just 27 team points to OH D2 #14 Hoban's 37 team points. Individually, Hoban's Jason Green won the Bule Division with a time of 17:25.
OH D2 #12 Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, lead by Liz Weiler's 19:49 first place finish, beat Padua Fransciscan 17-63, by having the top four finsishers in the race.
White Division
OH D2 #2 Elyria Catholic, lead by Marty Coolidge (16:23), placed all seven runners in the top 10 to capture the White Division title 20-41 over OH D3 #15 Trinity.
On the girls side, Elyria Catholic just squeaked by Trinity, 28-29, for the White Division title. Individually Elyria Catholic's Alexa Rick set the tone by finishing in 20:33.
Northeast Ohio Conference Championship
At Multiple Sites

River Division
Nordonia had a nice 1-2 punch in first place finisher Sal DelGiudice (17:18.9) and runner up John Ciocca (17:23.9), but that wasn't enough to capture the team title. Stow-Munroe Falls won the team title 40-47 over Nordonia.
Hannah Neczypor lead her OH D1 #12 North Royalton team to a first place finish, 40-53 over Mayfield, by crossing the finish line in 18:43.
Valley Division
OH D1 #2 Hudson had a nice 1-2 punch in first place finisher Angela Williams (19:33) and runner up Madison Hartline (19:44), which helped them capture the team title over OH D1 #15 Medina, 36-65. Other teams of note in this race include OH D1 #17 Solon, who finished third with 69 team points and OH D1 #8 Brunswick, who finished fourth with 73 points.
Colby Alexander of OH D1 #18 Strongsville took home the individual title by finishing with a time of 16:09. In the team race, OH D1 #3 Medina beat OH D1 #11 Hudson, 27-68. Strongsville (87 team points) finished fourth behind Solon (80 team points).

At Lima Central Catholic
OH D3 #3 Spencerville posted a perfect 15 in the team score and even placed all seven athletes in the top 10. Lima Central Catholic was the runner up by scoring 66 team points. Spencerville was lead by seniors Lyndia Brown's first place finish in 20:03 and runner up Ashley Gilroy (20:13).
Spencerville, lead by senior Jonathan Rex (17:07), also won the team title on the guys side by scoring 45 team points to Columbus Grove's 60 team points.
Northwest Ohio Athletic League Championship
At Archbold
Colin Fisher (16:41) paced OH D3 #7 Delta to a first place victory over Archbold, 18 to 76. Delta was a ble to take six of the top 7 spots in the boys race.
OH D3 #9 Liberty Center scored just 32 points to take the team title by placing four girls in the top 10. Individually, Marin Baird ran 20:20 to capture the individiual crown and lead her team Wauseon to a runner up finish with 40 team points.
Ohio Capital Conference Conference
At Multiple Locations
National Elite Performances
Capital Division
New Albany, lead by Blake Taneff's 16:21 victory, beat the new school in the Ohio Capital Conference, Hilliard Bradley, 38 to 66.
Sarah Baker (18:55) of Mount Vernon put a hurting on the field by finishing a full minute in front of the next closes finish. Baker's time wasn't enough to help Mount Vernon capture the team title as they scored 56 team points to team champion Watkins Memorial 48 team points.
Cardinal Division
Westerville North took the team title behind the leadership of Jeff Hannaford who crossed the line in 15:47 to set Westerville North up to score 47 team points. Runner up Olentangy Liberty scored 63 team points to finish in second.
On the girls side, OH D1 #6 Dublin Scioto placed seven runners in the top 10, including taking the top six spots to post a perfect 15 team points, and a 1 through 5 spread of just six seconds. Scioto was lead by individual champion Kimberly Wedinger's 19:56 clocking. Olentangy Liberty, again, finished as the runner up with 95 team points.
Central Division
OH D1 #10 Dublin Coffman placed four in the top 10 to help score 42 points, 18 points ahead of Upper Arlington's 60 team point total. Individually, Jay McKenna of Hilliard Darby clocked in at 16:09 to take the individual title.
OH D1 #20 Upper Arlington took first place by scoring 40 team points to Hilliard Davidson's

Ohio Division
OH D1 #8 Pickerington North placed six in the top 10, including the top two runners in Daniel Garleb (16:07) and Nick Hissrich (16:09) to capture the team title 22-42 over Reynoldsburg.
Pickerington North defeated city rival Pickerington Central 44-56 to capture the Ohio Division title. Individual winner, Kaitlyn Meyer of Pickerington Central, clocked in at 20:13.

At Keystone
On the boys side, David Kindall of Black River took the individual title by running 17:05 for the 5k.
Keystone's Brittany Gates won the individual race by finishing in 20:10, over two minutes ahead of the runner up.

County Division
OH D2 #1 Woodridge, lead by divisional champion Kyle Cochran (16:50.50) captured the team title in the County Division by placing all five scorers in the top 9 spots and posting a 23 to 50 victory over OH D3 #12 East Canton.
On the girls side, OH D2 #10 Woodridge and eventual runner up Waterloo battled it out through four finishers, but then Woodridge was able to put their next three runners in before Waterloo's fifth runner. Ultimately Woodridge would top Waterloo, 23 to 48. Woodridge's Maria Moore finished in 20:08.20 to take the gold medal.
Metro Division
OH D2 #12 Field, helped by a 45 second 1-5 split, successfully held off OH D2 #13 Crestwood to take the Metro Division team title, 33-42. Individually, Crestwood's Brandan McGee clocked in at 16:28.70 to take the divisional crown.
In girls action, propelled by placing all seven runners in the top 11 finishers, and from recieving a first place finish from Sammi Vaughan (20:07.10), OH D2 #14 Crestwood was able to post a low team score of 24, more than half of runner up Field's 50 team points.
Sandusky Bay Conference
At Huron
Sandusky Central Catholic was lead by the 1-2 punch of Brian Ferber (16:47) and Michale Gallagher (17:13) on their way to topping Oak Harbor 52 to 64.
The Oak Harbor girls place five runners in the top 10 to capture the team title 28 to 71 over Edison-Milan. Individual top honors went to Oak Harbor's Kia Frank who finished the course in 20:13.
Scioto Valley Conference Cross Country Championships

The Unioto girls team also won the conference title by defeating Zane Trace 32-52. Taylor Hatfield of Zane Trace blew away the field on the way to her victory in 18:41, over a minute and a half faster than the runner up.

Warren placed all five scorers in the top 8 to post just 26 team points to runner up Ironton's 51 points. Freshman Alex Wesel of Marietta captured the individual title by finishing in a time of 17:09.30.
Lead by a 1-2 punch from Peyton Adkins (19:30) and McKenna Warner (20:08) Gallia Academy dropped just 34 points at their league championship, the only problem though, was that Marietta also scored just 34 team points. In a sixth place tie breaker, Marietta was crowned the team champion as their sixth runner finished 22nd overall and Gallia Academy's sixth runner finished 26th overall.

Boys American Division
Western Brown defeated Bethel-Tate, 43-45. Individually, Lance Lambert of Bethel-Tate captured the divisional title by finishing in 17:55.
Boys National Division
Bryson Lewis (17:45) lead Blanchester to the divisional title, a 30-42 victory over Batavia.
Girls Overall Conference
Due to the number of teams competing, there were no divisional resutls for the girls. In the overall conference, Western Brown place six in the top ten to score 20 points, sixteen points ahead of New Richmond's 36 team points. Individually, Christine Moon of Western Brown clocked a 20:41 to win the individual title.

At Ripley Union Lewis Huntington
Eastern-Sardinia's Austin Smith captured the individual league with a clocking of 17:12.60. Smith kept league champions North Adams from posting a perfect score, as North Adams took the second through sixth spots and posting a score of 20 team points to Eastern-Sardinia's 68 team points.
On the girls side, Ripley Union Huntington Lewis just snuck by a strong showing from Peebles to win the league title 43-44. Peebles' Tabby Wheeler was the first finisher as she crossed the line in 22:26.30, nearly twenty seconds in front of the runner up.

William Stapelton (18:07) lead his Dixie Greyhounds to a team championship over over Waynesville, 27-46.
Through five runners Dixie and Waynesville were tied with 49 team points total. In a sixth place tie breaker, Dixie took the team title by having their sixth runner place 17th to Waynesville sixth runner's 25th place finish. Individually, Michelle Brunswick of Middletown Madison clocked in at 22:05 to be crowned the team champion.
Southwestern Division
Peter Hix is rounding into shape nicely for a post season run as he was able to capture the individual title with a time of 16:29 on his way to leading Oakwood to a team title over runner up Bellbrook, 60-68.
Milton-Union was able to place three girls in the top five, including divsion champion Nicole Klimkowsk (20:22), to post a team score of 59. But that wasn't enough to overcome Bellbrook, who put all five scorers in the top 15, to score just 51 points, and capture the Southwestern Division crown.
