TOLEDO, OH - The University of Toledo track team looks to bounce back from its narrow setback at Western Michigan, as the Rockets will travel to Bowling Green Saturday for the BG Team Challenge.
   
The Rockets dropped a 71.5-67.5 to the Broncos on Sunday evening, and the team looks to build off of that defeat as it prepares for the next few weeks of competition.    
   
"We are using this meet to work on some technical things and to rest our top distance runners to prepare for the next two meets," Kevin Hadsell, head coach, said. "We have a huge team scored meet next weekend in New York City and then we head to Kentucky the following week. So this is a fun meet and a nice meet for our developing athletes."
   
Joining the Rockets at the meet in Bowling Green are four other MAC teams in Miami, Ohio, Ball State and Central Michigan. Other teams slated to compete include Oakland, Dayton, Detroit Mercy and IPFW.
   
At Western Michigan, Toledo was led by its talented junior tandem of Amanda Kaverman and Alex Afloari. Kaverman recorded wins in the 55 and 200-meter dash, while Afloari scored first in the triple jump and the 55-meter hurdles and also finished second in the long jump.
   
The Rockets were also bolstered by a victory in the 3000-meter run by Lindsay Toussant, who was making her season debut, while Michelle Sutherland picked up her first victory in the high jump this season.
