Marietta track and field wraps up competition at North Florida Open

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Marietta College track and field team closed out its first weekend of outdoor competition Saturday (March 6) with day two of the North Florida Spring Break Open. [Results]

Juniors Matt Hickman (St. Mary's, W.Va., St. Mary's), Anthony Williams (Columbus, Bishop Hartley) and Josh Bibb (Marietta, Marietta) all set personal records in the 200m Dash. Hickman crossed the line in 22.31, Williams followed in 22.67 and Bibb came in with a time of 23.42 seconds.

Four Pioneers had season's best performances in the 1,500m Run. Senior Cody Thomas (North Olmsted, North Olmsted) finished in 4:06.15, freshman Caleb Muller (Columbus, Bexley) crossed in 4:10.37, freshman Caleb Ellis (St. Albans, W.Va., St. Albans) ran a time of 4:14.70 and senior Michael Siringer (Willowick, Willoughby South) finished in 4:18.77.

Sophomores Lauren Asbury (White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Greenbrier East) and Brittany Sims (Columbus, Eastmoor Academy) ran well in the 200m Dash. Sims finished in 26.63 seconds, while Asbury set a personal record by crossing the line in 26.65 seconds.

Junior Olivia Holiday (Malta, Morgan) cleared a season-best 3.20m (10-06.00) in the Pole Vault.

The Pioneers return to action March 12-13 when they travel to Conway, S.C. to participate in the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
