BGSU Looks to Move Up in Standings on Day Two at All-Ohio Championships

Falcons Perched In Tenth Place After Day One Of All-Ohio Championships

Sat, Apr, 17 | Women's Track and Field

DAY ONE RESULTS

On a blustery and occasionally rainy day in Athens, Ohio, sophomore Sally Kandie set a personal career record and logged the team's second best time of the season in the 5000 meters, as Bowling Green's track and field squad completed the first day of the All-Ohio Championships.

Kandie's time of 18:09.97 earned her a 13th place finish in the event was representative of the Falcons' day; a very strong effort that did not result in points for the team.  Freshman Abby Koch added a time of 18:24.50 to finish 15th in the 5000 meters.

In fact, the Orange and Brown managed two points on the day.  Those points were netted by freshman Kristin Boettcher in the hammer throw.  Boettcher placed seventh with a toss of 49.69 meters.  Fellow freshman Brooke McCombs completed a throw of 44.77 meters, while Ashley Harris logged a mark of 43.92m.

Brittani McNeal, a junior from Romeoville, Ill., was Bowling Green's other top-ten finisher for the day.  In the long jump, McNeal leaped 5.35 meters to take ninth place.

Bowling Green native Paige Lane completed a toss of 33.18 meters in the javelin to finish 11th.  The Falcons' other competitor of the day, junior Megan Kelsey, ran a time of 40:10.76 in the 10,000 meters and also placed 11th.

After one day, the Falcons claim tenth place, three points behind Wright State (9th) and four points behind Cincinnati (8th).  The University of Dayton leads the All-Ohio Championships with 42 points.
