The Bowling Green State University track and field team found success at the first annual Toledo Tune-Up, as the team prepares to close its 2010 schedule.

The Falcons sent a limited roster of five athletes to the University of Toledo for Friday's meet, as the team chose to rest in preparation for next weekend's 2010 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Of the five entries, the Orange and Brown earned an event win and three other tip-five finishes.  None of Bowling Green's contingent earned a spot outside of the top ten.

Sabrina Forstein, a senior from Geneva, Ohio, is wrapping up her fourth and final season as a Falcon in style.  Forstein won the pole vault on Friday and set a season-best outdoor mark of 11-09.75 in the process.  Her victory came by six inches over the second-place competitor.

Sophomore Ashley Fischer and junior Carly Wells also achieved personal records on Friday, each in the 1500 meter run.  Fischer set a new career-best time of 4:45.62, while Wells set a season-best time of 4:49.78.  Wells' mark was her best time in the event since her freshman campaign in 2008.

Fischer placed third, seven seconds behind the winner, while Wells completed the race in fifth place.

Falcon freshman Kristin Boettcher also notched a top-five finish, as she earned third place in the hammer throw.  Boettcher's toss was 158-09 (48.40m).

Bowling Green also competed in the javelin throw, and junior Paige Lane finished tenth after a throw of 89-09 (27.36m).

The Falcons now look forward to next weekend's MAC Championships.  The championship meet will run from Thursday, May 13th through Saturday, May 15th and will be held in Buffalo, N.Y.
