NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Sophomore #Ashley Bault (Atwater/Waterloo)# produced a school record performance in the Long Jump at the the Gregory Track & Field Invitational, hosted by North Central College Thursday (May 20) and Friday (May 21), to become Marietta College track and field's fifth individual qualifier for the upcoming NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) foe Baldwin-Wallace College will host the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship May 27-29 in Berea, Ohio. The Pioneers hosted the national event in 2009.

Bault broke a 21-year old school record with her NCAA provisional qualifying performance of 5.57m (18-03.25). Wendy Meade set the previous top mark of 5.54m (18-02.00) in 1989.

Sophomore #Corryn Muench (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic)#, freshman #Kristeva Rowe#, sophomore #Brittany Sims (Columbus/Eastmoor Academy)# and senior #Christi Tims (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls)#, set another school record and moved up the list of NCAA provisional qualifiers in the 4x400m Relay at the Gregory Invitational. The Pioneers combined for a time of 3:53.64.

The NCAA will release the championship field on Monday (May 24) afternoon. Marietta is guaranteed at least one participant, as sophomore #Kim Keesler (Chagrin Falls/Chagrin Falls)# hit an automatic qualifying mark of 3.86m (12-08.00) earlier this spring.
