Muller Finishes Ninth at Inter-Regional Rumble

OBERLIN, Ohio — Sophomore #Caleb Muller (Columbus/Bexley)# posted a ninth place finish to highlight Marietta College cross country's performance at the 2010 Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College Saturday (Oct. 16) afternoon. [Results]

Marietta's men finished with 690 points to place 24th among the 31 teams, while the Pioneer women collected 509 points to finish 18th out of 26 programs.

Muller finished the eight-kilometer race in career-best 25:26.3, which is the eighth fastest time in program history. His ninth place finish was 56 spots higher than the previous best Pioneer performance at the meet.

Sophomore #Caleb Ellis (St. Albans, W.Va./St. Albans)# was the next to finish the race. He posted a time of 26:50.6 to place 100th.

Sophomore #Sean Hoover (Kent/Kent Roosevelt)# and #Andy Guimond (Marietta/Marietta)# crossed the line together in 189th and 190th place, respectively. Hoover finished in 28:45.9, while Guimond finished in 28:54.7.

Sophomore #Bryn Perkey (Middlebourne, W.Va./Tyler Consolidated)# closed out the scoring with a 202nd place finish after covering the course in 29:54.7.

Junior #Reba Leonard (Brookville/Brookville)# led the Pioneer women with a 44th place finish after covering the six-kilometer course in 23:17.2, which was the fifth fastest time in program history.

Senior #Stephanie Williams (Vincent/Warren Local)# ran a collegiate personal record 23:53.0 and finished 75th.

Freshman #Amy Kauffman (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area)# and sophomore #Lydia Tillmaand (Xenia/Xenia)# followed in 121st and 128th place after running times of 24:57.5 and 25:11.7, respectively.

Junior #Mehgan Cline (Dublin/Coffman)# capped the scoring with a 141st place finish after crossing the line in 25:45.0.

The Pioneers resume their season Oct. 30 when they compete at the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship, hosted by Otterbein University.
