2010 MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS:   Team Results (.htm)   --   Individual Results (.htm)

The Bowling Green State University women's cross country team traveled to the 2010 Mid-American Conference Championships with aspirations of improving after last year's seventh place finish.

Despite having five times under 23 minutes and setting multiple personal records, the team fell back to eighth place in the 12 team field.

At the meet, hosted by Western Michigan at the Pine View Golf Club in Kalamazoo, Mich., Autumn Dettmann finished first among all Falcons by setting a personal record time of 22:28.7 in the 6K run.  Competing in her final MAC championship event, Dettmann placed 39th.

Sophomore Abby Koch, who had been BGSU's top finisher in every event but one thus far in 2010, placed 45th by completing the race in 22:43.4.

Seniors Tara Weiss and Heather Conger each had strong races, placing 49th (22:49.7) and 50th (22:51.0), respectively.

Fellow senior Megan Kelsey set a personal record in the 6K by crossing the finish line in 22:55.2 for 52nd place.

Barbara Powers (23:06.4), Katie Borgelt (23:37.7), Courtney Krummert (23:43.5) and Sally Kandie (24:21.8) also competed for the Orange and Brown.

Bowling Green's next competition will be two weeks from today in Rochester, Mich. at the 2010 NCAA Great LAkes Regional.
