BGSU To Compete At Akron Invitational

Fri, Feb, 11 | Men's Cross Country

For the first time in 2011, the Bowling Green State University men's cross country team will see cross-over action when they compete this weekend at the 2011 Akron Invitational track and field meet.

The meet will feature events for both men's and women's teams, and the Falcons have chosen to use this meet as one of several opportunities to see action this season.

The Falcon competitors are in store for some very strong competition, as five men's teams ranked in the top 20 nationally are expected to participate.  Several Mid-American Conference schools, including Kent State and Central Michigan, will also be in Akron this weekend.

Peter Miles and Luke Zerkle are each scheduled to participate in the 800m and 1 mile events on Saturday (Feb. 12).  Meanwhile, Greg Black, Josh Franek and Jeff Ehler will compete in the 3000m run.

On Friday (Feb. 11), Joe van Bolderen, Jesse Smuda and Ryan Harrison tackle the 5000m run.

A recap will be posted at the conclusion of the meet; however, you can also access live stats HERE.  Live video will also be available on both days of the meet HERE.
