Mon, Apr, 04 | Baseball, General, Women's Track and Field

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Jon Berti and track and field athlete Tatijana Jacobson.

Male Athlete of the Week
Jon Berti, a junior from Troy, Mich., hit .583 (7-for-12) over the weekend, scoring six runs and driving in seven more while posting a slugging percentage of 1.167. He also converted 3-of-4 stolen base attempts and had four extra base hits, including his fourth triple of the season. On Friday, he came up a single short of the cycle with a solo home run, an RBI triple, and an RBI double. His first inning single on Sunday extended his current hitting streak to a team-high eight games.

Female Athlete of the Week
Tatijana Jacobson, a sophomore from Elmore, Ohio, tied a career-best height and won the high jump for the second consecutive year at the Toledo Collegiate Challenge when she scored a mark of 1.70 meters (5-07.00). Jacobson currently owns the best jump in the Mid-American Conference thus far in the outdoor track and field season. She also competed in the 100 meter hurdles (0:19.92) and the shot put (6.95m) at Saturday's meet.
