Falcons Trek To Ypsilanti For Eastern Michigan Twilight Meet

The march to the Mid-American Conference Championships continues this weekend for the Bowling Green State University track and field team in Ypsilanti, Mich. when the Falcons compete in the Eastern Michigan University Twilight meet.

The two-day event begins on Friday (April 22) and will be held at EMU's Rynerson Stadium on the Olds/Marshall Track.  Friday's competition kicks off with field events beginning at 3:00 p.m.; the day's track events begin three hours later.  On Saturday, field events commence at 10:00 a.m., followed two hours later by the start of track events.

Jessie Rowland and Ashley Harris lead a group of throwers that will lead off the meet for the Falcons in the hammer throw and shot put.  Also on Friday, Christina Gagliardo will compete in the pole vault, while Nicole Farr and Darlene Anderson race in the steeplechase and 400 meter hurdles, respectively.

Heather Conger will help complete Friday's roster of events as she is slated to run in the seeded 800 meter race.  Taylor Stichter runs for the Orange and Brown in the 5000 meter race, while several Falcons, led by Autumn Dettmann and Carly Wells, are scheduled to compete in the 1500 meter run.

Saturday's schedule includes all three of the jumping events, as well as the discus and javelin throws.  On the track, Saturday features both relays, the sprints, and the 3000 meter run.
