Falcons' Season Ends As Harris Competes At NCAA East Regional

Fri, May, 27 | Women's Track and Field

Ashley Harris competed in the shot put on Friday afternoon (May 27) at the NCAA Division I East Regional track and field meet.  Harris, who traveled to Bloomington, Ind. for the event, failed to qualify for the national championship meet, thereby officially ending the season for the Bowling Green State University track and field team.

Harris qualified for the regional event by throwing for a season-best 14.52 meters (47-7.75) at the Ohio Women's Team Challenge in April.

On Friday, Harris began the competition with a 13.35-meter (43-09.75) throw.  That toss ended up as her best in three attempts.  Her mark was not one of the top 16 after the first three attempts, and she was eliminated prior to the second set of three attempts.

The Falcons' season is now complete.  A full recap of the 2011 BGSU track and field season and a look at what lies ahead for the program will be available on BGSUFalcons.com next week.
