BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University men's and women's cross country teams get one final opportunity to prepare for the 2011 Mid-American Conference Championships when they travel to Muncie, Ind. on Friday (Oct. 14) for the Ball State Invitational.

The meet will take place at the Elks Country Club in Muncie.  The site will serve as the host of the MAC championship meet in two weeks.  The women's race, scheduled for 4:00 p.m., is a 6,000-meter (6K) event.  The men's race begins at 4:45 p.m. and is scheduled for a distance of 8,000 meters (8K).

The Falcons participation in the meet also lends to some history -- this will be the first scored cross country meet hosted by Ball State in 15 years and the first regular season scored meet since 1992.

The Orange and Brown will be opposed in the women's race by Ball State, Kent State, Miami and Western Michigan.  The men's team will square off against Kent State.

Bowling Green currently plans to field six runners in the 6K and 11 runners in the 8K race.  Several others will race as unattached athletes.  Two week ago at the All-Ohio Championships, Abby Koch ran unattached and won the open 5K race.

Complete results and a recap will be available on BGSUFalcons.com on Friday evening.
