Understood, but on the Youngstown State website it says that all the Divisions are combined and the meet begins at 10. On OHRunners it says that their is a DIII and DII meet followed by the DI meet at different times. The accepted entries pdf. was released at that says the meet starts at 10.

This meet was my first visit to the YSU facility. I really like the track surface and amount of windows on all sides of the building.

It seemed to me that there was an excessive amount of time with everyone standing around in between events. One of the YSU students working the meet said they were missing the "normal" timing crew. They also combined the DI and DII/DIII meets. I'm not sure I would return to YSU under similar circumstances.

Can you provide any additional insights? Did you think the delays between events today were longer than in prior meets?

    Thanks.

    Mark:

You know my contact info so in the future I'd appreciate it if you would contact me directly about issues you feel need commented....

I was not there. However the other guys that time many meets that you have been to were there and have been there all season.

Yes there were issues. Unfortunately I can't tell you why they happened with 100% certainty. All I know is there were some issues and delays. The guys that were there weren't pleased with this and I can tell you I am working to get them fixed. One of the major issues was something that even I would have had issues with and any other timer in the country would have had.

That doesn't make it right and we all know that, but those are the facts that I have.

    Mark-
Having been involved in some hs meets for quite some time, you know that a new facility will always have bugs that need to be ironed out. Akron, Kent, and Geneva have all had issues from time to time. I can tell you that Delta Timing steamrolled all of the issues that I experienced and now puts on a top notch, very high volume, production at Kent. Some issues are within a meet managements control at the time and some are not. You can be assured that any issue that DTG can control is already handled. And Brian Gorby will handle his end of the YSU meets with the same high degree of professionalism that he has displayed in hosting various Horizon League Championships. There are many choices for high school indoor meets now and YSU will be a very user friendly choice.

Best of luck to everyone in the meets that remain in the 2012 indoor season.

I remember those early days at Kent well.

My concern regarding the YSU meet wasn't so much that there were delays, but whether meet management felt there were unusual delays. Not having been to a prior meet, I didn't have a perspective on whether yesterday was the norm or was unusual. If they didn't feel there were problems, then that alone would be a problem from my perspective.

To Josh's point, I posted this here so that everyone would be aware of any "official" responses. My intent was not to embarass nor just complain.

Fair enough, I see your point. I had a lot of discussions with people and no as you know now, that is NOT the norm of any meet that I or anybody that works for me. Bigger issues than I care to get into because those issues were out of our control and are technical in nature with the intranet there at WATTS. I'll be back down this week to get it all resolved.
