I'm sure there will be more to name, but let me start out by listing athletes from Wayne HS that qualified for the NCAA outdoor championships next month at Des Moines, Iowa.

Senior Michelle Eby (c/o 2008) of University of Cincinnati cleared 4.05 meters or 13 feet 3 1/2 inches to claim one of the top 12 marks. Michelle also holds the outdoor UC record with a leap of 13-8.5

Junior Alexis Thomas (c/o 2009) of the Ohio State University qualified 6th in the hammer throw, tossing 60.40 meters or 198 feet 3 inches. Earlier in the year, Alexis was named BIG 10 Field Event Athlete of the meet, by throwing a school record AND BIG 10 record of 64.62 meters or 212 feet.

Finally, sophomore Demoye Bogle (c/o 2010), also of the Ohio State University, went 13.81 (fourth fastest in OSU school history), finishing 10th overall, for his first trip to NCAA's.

I know there will be more to list, but wanted to list from our school (it's the proud coach in me)....

She is well ahead of Wineberg's curve that's for sure lol. It will be interesting to see if Ashley can get under 51 by the time she's done at Iowa, which should earn her a pro contract. With two years to go she's certainly well on her way.
