Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference places five teams in Division II men’s rankings
NEW ORLEANS – Five teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference are ranked among the top 25 in the third Division II men’s cross country poll of the 2007 season.
The top five in the poll released today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association remained the same as last week’s, with Abilene Christian on top followed by Adams State, Western State, Grand Valley State and Chico State.
Sixth-ranked Colorado School of Mines moved up one spot this week. Rounding out the rest of the top 10 are Stonehill, Slippery Rock, Minnesota State Mankato and Southern Indiana.
The second 10 consists of Edinboro, Western Washington, UMass Lowell, Missouri Southern State, Saginaw Valley State, Lock Haven, New Mexico Highlands, Augustana (S.D.), Alaska Anchorage and Missouri-Rolla.
The final five spots in this week’s top 25 go to Southern Connecticut, Metro State, Ashland, Wayne State (Mich.) and Hillsdale.
Five teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference are ranked in this week’s poll: No. 2 Adams State, No. 3 Western State, No. 6 Colorado Mines, No. 17 New Mexico Highlands and No. 22 Metro State.

The 2007 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held Nov. 17 in Joplin, Mo. Abilene Christian’s Nicodemus Naimadu will try to win his fourth straight NCAA cross country title.
