Boys Race

Individual Qualifiers:

Brandon Riedlinger, Marion Harding; Dylon Webb, Wapakoneta; Colin Pettiford, Toledo St. Frances DeSales; Mustafa Ahmed, Westland; Luis Carbajal and Jeremy Languis, Dublin Scioto; Isaac Szana, Thomas Worthington; Jeff Hannaford, Brian Hannaford and Patrick McCormack, Westerville North; Nate Boyer, Tri-Valley; Blake Taneff, New Albany; Ryan Del Grosso, Marysville; Ahmad Jilo and Adam Abdullahi, Columbus West; Chris Aldea, Central Crossing; Terrance Wallace, Westerville Central; Tom Wilkin, Olentangy Liberty; Brock Finelli, Watkins Memorial.

Prediction:

Reynoldsburg has been racing lately, not necessarily running blazing times, but they are racing and beating their competition.  With that being said, they have a shot at the Regional title, along with Hilliard Davidson and Pickerington North.  Hilliard Davidson is the favorite here to take home the team title as long as they run a smart race.  Reynoldsburg and Pickerington North will likely battle it out to be runner up, with the edge going to Pickerington North since they are running on their home course.  Darby has two front runners and will have a great shot at helping the team qaulify to state by finishing fourth, but there are other teams that have put together good meets as of late and could slide into the fourth spot, such as Findlay, Gahanna Lincoln or St. Charles.

Girls Race

Individual Qualifiers:

Michelle Thomas, Glen Este; Allison Stillwell, Tri-Valley; Kaitlyn Meyer, Pickerington Central; Hannah Skrobot, Bishop Watterson; Celia Leonard and Sarah Baker, Mt. Vernon; Stephanie Smith, Newark; Audrey Springer, Watkins Memorial; Arwen Marker, Olentangy Liberty; Amanda Porter, Teays Valley.

Prediction:

Thomas Worthington is the front runner of this region, but not by much.  While Thomas Worthington will most likely take home the Regional crown, they will be pushed by a strong Kings team and a Mason team that is looking to make up for a sub par showing at their district meet.  Mason, Kings and Thomas Worthington should all finish in the top three.  The fourth and final qualifying spot will likely go to either Cincinnati Anderson or Hilliard Darby.  Anderson had a strong showing at their district meet and could be in the mix for even a top three finish, while Darby had a huge breakout performance at their conference meet.  The edge goes to Darby here, since they will be running to prove that their performance at their league meet wasn't a fluke.

Boys Race

Individual Qualifiers:

David Crumley, Hamilton Township; Matt Snelling, Utica; Tony Wilson, Jonathan Alder; Matt Kennedy, London; Nick Sayre, Tuscarawas Valley; Ronie Balvin, Buckey Local; Billy Padgelek, Union Local; Stephan Sabo, New Philadelphia; DJ Pleshinger, Dover; Josh Joosse and Matt Boedeker, Zane Trace; Kevin Thompson, Alexander.

Prediction:

Canal Winchester and Claymont will be in a close race for the regional championship.  I like Canal Winchester in the upset Regional win and Claymont being the runner up. The third and fourth spots are a little tougher to call, Unioto, St. Clairsville, Col. Bexley and Vincent Warren all have a shot at advancing to the state meet.  The true battle will probably be between St. Clairsville and Vincent Warren, likely with Vincent Warren taking third place and St. Clairsville qualifying in the fourth spot.

Individual Qualifiers:

Jessie Leaman, Utica; Jade Brannan, Columbus Bexley; Macy Adkins, Lorraine Strouse and Rachel Rohr, Millersburg; Chelsea Furda and Ellyn Mayher, Wintersville; Bri Stevens, River View; Brittney LiPira, Sheridan; Kylie Stewart, Martins Ferry; Whitney McGaha, Meadowbrook; Kaylee Nutter, West Muskingum; Jensen Buchanan and Brittany Jacolenne, Maysville; Sara Foy, Vincent Warren; Taylor Mullins, Wellston; Sarah Eickholt, Logan Elm; Miriah Park, Unioto; Megan Roll and Lydia Weaver, Zane Trace; Sammantha Stroker, Washington Court House.

Prediction:

Dover and Marietta will likely go one-two in this region.  This really is a coin toss as it will come down to how well each teams three through six runners do.  Look for Marietta to come home with the regional title.  New Albany and Canal Winchester will likely go three-four, in that order.  New Albany beat Canal Winchester at their district meet and will try to make it happen again.

Boys Race

Individual Qualifiers:

Jeremy Hornick, Johnstown-Monrow; Eric Hamann, Fischer Catholic; Thomas Thatcher, Centerburg; Andrew Mantell, Bishop Ready; Sam Power, Fairbanks; Kyle Brookhover, Millersport; Adam Kulewicz, Columbus Academy; Troy Tollett and Adam Amato, Shadyside; Nick Gardner, Paint Valley; Aaron Martindale, Eastern-Reedsville; Brandon Crislip, Belpre; Tom Andreski, Malvern; Justin Kammler, Notre Dame; Jordan Selbee, Eastern-Beaver.

Prediction:

St. John's Central has the obvious advantage here and should come away with the Regional Crown, but Mount Gilead has run well as of late and will be OHRunner's pick for the Pickerington North Div. III Boys regional champ, with St. John's Central a close runner up in the upset.  Col. Grandview Heights ran an excellent race at their district meet will likely end up in the third spot earning them a trip to the state meet.  The final spot should come down to a battle of district rival in Sandy Valley and Caldwell, while Caldwell has a good pack, Sandy Valley has some front runners that should help them get the fourth spot and a trip to the state meet.

Individual Qualifiers:

Kayla Cook, South Webster; Ashley Fitch, River Valley; Hillary Broadbent and Audrey Lawless, Tuscarawas Central Catholic; Heather Exline, Trimble; Brittany Piccone, Crooksville; Emily Skidmore and Hannah Shull, Alexander; Sarah Appleton and Rachel Appleton, Notre Dame; Sarah Blatt, River; Nicole Humphrey, Columbus Academy; Addi Faulkner and Liz Nixon, Fischer Catholic; Ashleigh Bennett, Worthington Christian; Krista Mathews and Tricia Steffen, Liberty Union; Sarah Welsh-Huggins and Mary McAllister, Bishop Ready; Alex Reasoner, Millersport.

Prediction:

St. John's Central will look to take both the boys and girls Regional titles back to their hometown of Bellaire.  The Girls team has just as good, if not a better shot at doing their part of this rare dual Regional title.  Look for all the district champions to advance out of this region to the state meet.  It really is a toss up with very even teams in Newark Catholic, Northmor and Sandy Valley.  Look for Northmor to surprise a few teams and be the runner up in this Regional meet, followed by Newark Catholic's strong pack and then Sandy Valley in the final state qualifying spot.
