The 29th Mid-East Cross Country Championships - The Boys

Here is a look at the Boy's team rosters for the 29th Mid-East Cross Country Championships at Kettering Indian Riffle Park in Kettering, Ohio this Saturday. The meet features Senior only teams from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio and is sponsored by the Greater Dayton Track and Cross Country Officials Association and the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches.  It has been run annualy since 1987. 

Last years Team race was won by Indiana with 29 points,  Michigan was 2nd with 39,  Ohio was 3rd with 62 and Illinois was 4th with 140.  Based on time only, Indiana and Ohio should battle for the top spot this year.  A virtual meet shows Indiana going 2+6+8+13+15 - 44, Ohio 1+5+9+12+23 - 50, Illinois 3+7+16+17+22 - 68, and Michigan 4+10+18+20+21 - 73.  It should be a very competive race for the individual title and the team will come down to the 3-5 runners.  Indiana and Ohio, based upon times only, appear to have a little more depth than Illinois and Michigan.  The fastest individual time coming in to the meet is held by Ohio's Brad Davis of Dublin Jerome.  He was 6th in the D1 State Championships, but has an OH #2 ranking of 15:04.86.   The second fastest time belongs to Indiana's Brayden Law of Homestead.  Law was 2nd at the Indiana State Championships and has run 15:06.80.  The 3rd fastest time (converted) belongs to Eryk Yunk - Belvidere North, IL - 14:40.20 (converted 15:11.56).  He was 5th at the IHSA State Meet (Class 2A).
