NBNI Boys- Who from Ohio Can Win?

Anything can happen in T&F.  False starts, injuries, falls, a poor performance and break through PR's.  When one looks realistically at events and the performances of who is entered in the 2016 NBNI, Ohio boy's should be on the podium in the 400, the 800, the Pole Vault, Shot Put and the Weight Throw.  There are only three events however, where Ohio boys can win. Here is a closer look at those events:  the 2 Mile, the Mile and the 60m. 

BOYS 2 MILE

Can Andrew Jordan win the 2-Mile at NBNI?  Absolutely!  He is ranked #3 of the top five entrants with a converted time of 8:57.47.  Ahead of him is Adian Tooker of Saratoga Springs in NY who has a converted time of 8:57.32 and Thomas Ratcliffe of Concord Carlisle  in MA has an 8:57.47.  Just behind him are David Principe of La Salle Academy in RI with an 8:59.05 and Garek Bielaczyc of East in UT with a 9:00.07.  On paper its a coin toss.  It's even close if you look at 1,600/Mile and 800m times.  Tooker has a 4:09.38 mile and 2:02 800. Ratcliffe has a 4:06 mile and a 1:57.24 800.  Jordan has a 4:13.12 1,600 and a 2:00.40 800.  Principe has a 4:11.53 mile and a 2:01.60 800.  Bielaczyc has a 4:13.07 1,600 and a 1:56.36 800.  No one is going to go out to fast.  Too much experience here.  Expect Jordan to be patient the first mile and there will not be much seperation among the top five and there should be a large pack through the mile.  Look for a 4:25-28.  This one will come down to the last 400 and who is feeling it. Jordan has not been tested this indoor season.  His 8:54.82 3,200 was run on pace and virtually after the 1,600 by himself.  The other runners should make it easier and it will come down to finishing strength and speed in the last 400.  Should be a great race to watch.
