Ohio Alums Murphy & Bell Run 1-2 in Texas Relays 800m - 1:47.38, 1:47.94!

Clayton Murphy of the University of Akron and Brian Bell of the University of Houston ran 1-2 in the Open 800m at the Texas Relays yesterday.  Murphy won in a time of 1:47.38.  Bell was 2nd in 1:47.94. (photo Travis Miller)

Murphy is the current NCAA 800m Indoor champion and a Tri-Village alum.  He graduated in 2013, winning the D3 State 1,600 in a State Meet Record 4:11.72,  (Photo M. Stonecipher)

Bell is a Dunbar alum.  He graduated in 2015, winning the D2 800m in 1:54.53.  He was the NBNI 800m champion with a 1:51.08.  (Photo Chris Greene)
