Rosters are current as of Wednesday morning. Although the staff makes every effort to have firm event assignments, it must be recognized that this can become fluid due to late roster additions or scratches. All athletes listed, however, have a confirmed roster slot and will travel to Michigan and compete with Team Ohio.
Selections were based on performance from a pool of athletes who 'declared' by filling out an information card at the Midwest Meet of Champions tent during the state meet. Athletes were contacted by their event coaches Sunday and Monday after the state meet.
The teams will gather at the original Jesse Owens Memorial in front of Ohio Stadium ('the Shoe') on Friday, June 13th, at 10:00 a.m. They will leave shortly after on two charter buses bound for Jackson, Michigan.
The meet will take place at Jackson HS, which boasts a beautiful 9-lane all-weather surface. Three athletes from each state - Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio - will compete in each lane race as well as distance and field events.
The meet begins with field events at 12:00 on Saturday, June 14th. Running events begin at 1:00 p.m. The meet is scheduled to conclude at approximately 4:00 p.m.
The Men's meet has come down to the 4 x 400 in each of the last two years, with Ohio edging Michigan in 2006 and Indiana nipping Ohio in 2007.
Team Ohio is sponsored and fully funded by the Ohio Association of Track & Cross Country Coaches.
Dave Pavlansky of Boardman High School is the 2008 Team Ohio Coordinator. Questions regarding the meet may be directed to him at dspavlansky@hotmail.com
