Cory Leslie was named the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year for boys track and field. Cory had an outstanding year, highlighted by winning the Boys HS mile at the prestigious Penn Relays (just like the Ohio girls Gatorade Player of the Year, Stephanie Morgan). Cory, like Stephanie, also won both the 1600m and 800m at the OHSAA Division II Boys State Championship. Cory won the 1600m in 4:12.44, but more impressively he came back and won the 800m by setting a new PR of 1:50.77 with less than an hour of rest.
