Dustin Horter, Matt Scrape and C.J. Ambosio run US #2, 3 & 4! India Johnson US #10!

In the Asics Hot Summer Bash at Hilliard Davidson, Lakota East Jr. Dustin Horter and Pickerington Central Jr. Matt Scrape dueled the last 100m with Scrape catching and passing Horter with 50m to go and Horter passing him back in the last 20m.  Horter took the win, with both runners shattering the course record of 15:49.21 set last year by St. Ignatius' Luke Wagner.  Horter ran a US #2 15:18.52.  Scrape a US #3 15:18.61.  Sr. C.J. Ambosio of St. Ignatius ran a US #4 15:24.69.

ON the team side, St. Ignatius, led by Ambosio showed that they are a top 10 Ohio team winning with 66 points over a Scrape led, OH #10 ranked Pickerington Central team that had 68.  Through the #4 runners, Pick. Central had gone 2-4-5 and 22 (33).  Ignatius had gone 3-9-13 and 23 (43).  The difference came in the 5th men with Ignatius' 5th runner placing 23rd and Pick. Central's 35th.

The Centerville girls dominated the team race, led by sophomore Grace Kilroy, they scored a low 23 points. Kilroy, ran a new OH #2 18:24.26.  The big story however, was a US #10, sub-18:00 run by Sr. India Davidson of Hilliard Darby.  Johnson took the lead just after the mile with Kilroy in tow, and pushed the pace on her home course, winning by .24.59 seconds over Kilroy.

The Centerville girls made a strong statement that they are the D1 girls team to beat going 2-3-4-6-8 (27) (33) with just over a one minute spread.  The five scorers are all underclassmen; So. Grace Kilroy, Jr. Kelli Walsh, So. Savannah Lowe, Fr. Kerri Walsh and So. Rachel Whitehead.

The Gahanna Lincoln girls, OH #8, were 2nd with 47 points.
