In the championship boy's and girl's races at the Midwest Meet of Champions, D2 runners, Sr Zach Kreft (OH #16) of Buckeye Valley and Sr. Michelle Hostettler of West Holmes raced to wins. Kreft, the #2 ranked D2 runner in the State, passed OH #4, Olentangy Orange's Hunter Moore with just over 200m to go and held on to win. It was a PR and very big win for Kreft as he defeated not only Moore, but a very strong boy's field that included Solon Sr. Joe Riordan (OH #6), Sr. Andre Bolloam-Godbott of Brunswick (OH #7) , Jr. Matt Scrape of Pickerington Central (OH #9),, Sr. Matt Bull of Mentor (OH #10) and Sr. C.j. The Avon girls, 14th in the Coaches Poll, won the team race with 116 points over the Coaches Poll D2 #1 team, Chagrin Falls. The Avon girls were led by #10 So. Jules Frombach and #11 Sr. Claire Robertson. Chagrin Falls scored 130 points narrowly defeating the 3rd place Springboro (18th D1 CP) with 131.
