It is early in the 2017 Indoor season, but two Ohio athletes have already begun to make their mark in Ohio and on the National scene. Hoover Sr. Matt Peare vaulted a US #1 15-7 over the weekend at Kent State. Joining Peare, Jr. Zion Cross of Lorain in his first indoor appearance this season, ran US #3 and #4 in the 200 and 60m. Cross went 6.95 in the 60 and 22.32 in the 200.

Peare, who has a PR of 16-8.5 in the Pole Vault, is making a statement that he may be the one to beat this year Indoors and outdoors in the PV. He was 10th last year indoors, but won the 60mH with an 8.16. He was 4th outdoors in the PV with a 15-8, but won the 2015 D1 championship with a 16-4.
