Andrew Jordan - Your 2016 Ohio MileSplit Male Athlete of the Year! 1st Ever 2-Time Winner!



Congratulations to 2016 Watkins Memorial graduate and Iowa State freshman, Andrew Jordan who was voted the 2016 Ohio MileSplit Male Athlete of the Year!  In 2015 XC and both Indoors and Outdoors in 2016, he established himself as one of Ohio's All Time great Distance Runners.  He is the first 2-Time Ohio MileSplit Male Athlete of the Year, winning in 2015 as well.

2015 Cross Country

In Cross Country, Jordan ran a PR of 14:44.70 at Galion in Sept.  It earned him a US #6 ranking and is the fastest Cross Country 5K in Ohio History!  He ran undefeated in Ohio, winning the OHSAA D1 championship with a new National Trails course record of 14:54.  He went on to run 4th in the Footlocker Midwest Regional (14:59.10) and 6th in the Footlocker Nationals (15:16.60).

2016 Indoors

Indoors, he was just as good in winning the 3,200 at the MileSplit Scholastic Showcase with a time of 8:54.82 and defending his OATCCC D1 3,200 title, running a 9:03.68.  His 8:54.82 was a 2016 US #2, US #5 All-Time and OH #1 All-Time indoors.

2016 Outdoors 

In the 1,600m at the Mansfield Mehock Relays hem ran a new meet record 4:10.2, breaking the 2005 record of 4:11.73 set by Jeff See.   Jordan also came back to win the 800 in an OH #1 1:56.19.

At the Eastern Relays he ran an OH #2 and 2016 US #2 3,200 with a time of 8:46.72.  

Jordan also won the OHSAA D1 3,200 establishing new Division 1, State Meet and Owens Stadium records with an 8:54.96. 

He won the Midwest Meet of Champions 1,600m in 4:10.18.

Post season, he won the Brooks PR Two-Mile in 8:50.12, solidifying his elite status as one of Ohio's All-Time bests in the distance races.  His winning time ranked him US #1 in the Two-Mile in 2016 and was an Ohio #2 All-Time.
