Leah Roter of Beachwood High School won the 1600m race in 5:04.33.
The OATCCC Indoor State Championship was held in Akron on Saturday, March 4th and it brought Ohio's best track and field athletes to the Stile Athletics Field House on the campus of the University of Akron.
Previous recap articles have focused on the field events and team relay competitions, so today we will review the girls D2 / D3 distances races.
In 800m action, Halle McClintock of Chagrin Falls High School took the win with her 2:16.09 effort. McClintock's time is an Ohio #6 and a new P.R. at the 800m distance during indoor competition.

Beachwood's Leah Roter scored an emphatic victory in the 1600m race with her Ohio #7 time of 5:04.33. Ashleigh Rowley of Western Reserve finished 2nd in 5:09.45 and Beaumont's Ashley Rulison claimed 3rd place in 5:16.59.

In the 3200m event, Fairfield Union's Emma Hoellrich captured the state championship title with her 10:50.72 result. Hoellrich's time represents an Ohio #5 for the 2017 indoor season and it was 9 seconds faster than the 2nd place finisher.
