Midwest Meet of Champions - Girls Report

           Aziza Ayoub of Jonathan Alder High School won the 800m race with her time of 2:10.71. 


The Midwest Meet of Champions took place on Saturday, June 10th at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio and it featured top senior athletes from Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. 

Team Ohio took the girls overall title with 228 points, ahead of 2nd place Team Michigan who scored 160.50 points.  Team Indiana's earned 3rd position with 84.50 points.  

Team Michigan's Anavia Battle won the 100m race with an impressive time of 11.93 and her teammate, Jacalyn Overdier took the 3200m win with her 10:50.36 result.  Team Indiana's Lynna Irby secured 1st place in the 200m with her 23.96 effort.

           Team Michigan's Jacalyn Overdier finished 1st in the 3200m event with her time of 10:50.36. 


           Pike High School's Lynna Irby secured the 200m win with her time of 23.96. 


Below is a sample of some of Ohio's individual and team relay winners from the Midwest Meet of Champions:  


- Ohio took the top 3 spots in the Discus event:

1) Madison Pollard - Anthony Wayne High School - 163-02 - Ohio #3

2) Molly Leppelmeier - McComb High School - 157-08

3) Lauren Jones - Garfield High School - 150-00   


           Team Ohio finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Discus event at the Midwest Meet of Champions.  


Walsh Jesuit's Allie Stern won the Pole Vault event with her Ohio #2 vault of 13-03.


           Walsh Jesuit's Allie Stern took the win in the Pole Vault competition.  


Mentor's Emma Lane won the 400m race in an Ohio #3 time of 54.61. 


           Mentor's Emma Lane will compete for the Michigan Wolverines next year.  


Jonathan Alder's Aziza Ayoub won the 800m race in a time of 2:10.71.


           Jonathan Alder's Aziza Ayoub will compete for the Ohio State Buckeyes next year. 


Brunswick's Rebecca Craddock won the 1600m event in a time of 4:54.22 and Hannah Rasmussen of Kings High School took 2nd place with her 4:59.74 effort.


           Team Ohio took 1st and 2nd place in the 1600m event at the Midwest Meet of Champions


           1600m race winner Rebecca Craddock will compete for the University of Dayton next year. 


Lauren Micham of Sylvania Southview High School won the 100m hurdles event in a time of 14.37. 


           Team Ohio's Lauren Micham took a close win in the 100m hurdles race. 


Team Ohio took wins in the 4 x 200m, 4 x 400m and 4 x 800m relays.

4 x 200m - 1st place: 1:37.28

4 x 400m - 1st place: 3:43.40

4 x 800m - 1st place: 9:09.47 


           Granville's Natalie Price helped Team Ohio take the 4 x 200m relay win.  


           Natalie Price ran the anchor leg for Team Ohio during their 4 x 400m relay win.  


           Team Ohio won the 4 x 800m relay event by five seconds at the Midwest Meet of Champions
