Riverside High School's A.J. Haffa took the 5K race win with his time of 18:06.90.
The Ashtabula Lakeside - War on the Shore took place on Monday and it served as the 2017 XC season opener for the teams that were in attendance. Despite the hilly and challenging 5K route in Ashtabula, there were many impressive times posted.
Edgewood's Bailey Roberts claimed first place with her 21:47.70 effort. Roberts was followed by teammates Kayla Bertholf and Lydia Randolph. Bertholf recorded a 2nd place time of 22:25.30 and Randolph secured the 3rd position with her 22:44.30 result.

In boys action, Riverside's A.J. Haffa held off Madison's Nick Amos to capture a hard-earned win. Haffa produced a winning 5K time of 18:06.90 while Amos followed close behind with his 18:18.50 result. Haffa's time is the 6th best in the history of the Ashtabula Lakeside - War on the Shore meet.
