Brecksville-Broadview Heights hosted the 2017 Bruce Lerch Invitational this past Saturday.
The 2017 Bruce Lerch Invitational took place last Saturday on the campus of Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School and impressive team and individual performances were demonstrated.
On the girl's side, Brunswick took the team win with 54 points and they were followed closely by Twinsburg who claimed 2nd with 57 points. Chardon rounded out the top three with their 100 point total.
Brunswick's Emily Bardwell finished 1st with her time of 19:41.11; this is Bardwell's 1st race win of her high school XC career. Chardon's Denali Selent secured 2nd with her 19:49.19 result. Selent opened up her stride over the last 200m and overtook two runners on route to her runner up finish. In three races this season, this Chardon athlete has 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
Emily Bardwell helped Brunswick take the team title with her 1st place result.
Chardon High School's Denali Selent took 2nd place with her time of 19:49.19.

In boy's action, Woodridge took the team title with 55 points and Brecksville-Broadview Heights recorded 58 points to finish 2nd. Highland-Medina collected 99 points for 3rd place.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights' Anthony Camerieri capitalized on home field advantage as he cruised to victory in a time of 16:35.76. Twinsburg's Ryan Adkins comfortably broke the 17 minute barrier on his way to finishing 2nd. Adkins posted a time of 16:51.43.
Anthony Camerieri has a 1st and 3rd place finish in his two races so far this season.
