Thomas Worthington's Andy Payne (#5) will represent the EMU Eagles next year.
Congratulations to Thomas Worthington High School's Andy Payne on his decision to compete for Eastern Michigan University next year! MileSplit Ohio recently learned of this news and when we reached out to Payne, he indicated that he's very excited about this upcoming opportunity and that he's eager to prove himself at the next level.
Andy Payne has had a strong cross country season to date, as he's recorded 6 top 5 finishes in 7 race starts. He recorded his PR of 15:24.10 at last month's McGowan Invitational, where he placed 3rd overall. This result currently represents an Ohio #11. Payne also sports an impressive 3200m indoor PR of 9:13.44, which he produced at the 2017 OATCCC Indoor State Championship in March.
Payne will join 2017 Ohio high school graduates Matt Bull (Mentor) and Hunter Moore (Olentangy Orange) next year in Ypsilanti. Good luck to Andy Payne in competing for EMU under the guidance of head coach, John Goodridge.
Andy Payne will bring strong cross country and track PR's with him to Ypsilanti next year.
