Nick Foster Among Several MI Athletes On MileSplit 50 List

           Ann Arbor Pioneer's Nick Foster resides at No. 37 in the latest MileSplit 50 rankings. 

The content team at MileSplit USA released their latest MileSplit 50 lists earlier this week and the state of Michigan has a number of athletes represented.

Nick Foster / Ann Arbor Pioneer - No. 37 

Foster is coming off a pair of excellent showings at the MHSAA State Championship LP-1 - he claimed the 3200m victory in a fast time of 9:07.93 and he finished in the runner-up position to Rockford's Cole Johnson in the 1600 due to his 4:08.64 effort.  The Ann Arbor Pioneer junior is currently ranked first in the state in the 1600 and 3200 and third in the 800 due to his season best times of 4:08.16, 8:54.80 and 1:53.38, respectively.  

* Boys Rankings - 35 to 40: 

Grace Stark / White Lake Lakeland - No. 13 

Stark won the 100m hurdles and 100m races at last weekend's MHSAA State Championship LP-1 with her times of 13.16 and 11.74.  Her 100mH result represents a US No. 2 for the 2018 season and a new state record and her 100m effort is a tie for MI No. 2 during the current campaign. 

* Girls Rankings - 10 to 15 

Ericka Vanderlende / Rockford - No. 36

Vanderlende captured the 1600m win at the MHSAA State Championship LP-1 with her time of 4:45.17.  This result stands for a MI No. 1, a US No. 9 and a new pr for the Rockford junior.  She took a second place finish in the 3200m race due to her 10:12.26 clocking. 



Olivia Theis / Lansing Catholic - No. 37 

Theis recorded a time of 10:37.08 to place first in the 3200m event at last weekend's MHSAA State Championship LP-2 at Zeeland East.  She finished second in the 1600m race with her time of 4:54.33.  Theis is ranked third in the country in the 3200 from her 10:03.95 run at the Shepherd Blue Jay Invite in May. 

Anne Forsyth / Ann Arbor Pioneer - No. 44

Forsyth enters the rankings this week due to her 10:08.07 winning effort in the 3200m event at the MHSAA State Championship LP-1 in a contest where she edged Rockford's Ericka Vanderlende.  Forsyth claimed second in the 1600 (just behind Vanderlende) with her time of 4:48.28.
